  3. Not entirely true. It is true that slime grows at dead spots more but that is because your nutrient level is high. If you know, red slime is a kind of aerobic bacteria. i think its duty is related to nitrogen fixation which basically is your ANN cycle. so you have more nutrients, naturally mother cyano produces more of the baby cyano. So to combat red slime, control your nutrient level first. You might want to get a bigger skimmer or do more water changes.
  4. Looking awesome my dear friend. Now you remind me I should get a thread starting myself haha
  5. Once salinity is calibrated, your ph will more or less be 8.
  6. What's your salinity? Check your salinity. pH is just a number which can be affected by alot of things. Look at your salinity and try to achieve 1.023.
  7. Gate better but it's quite expensive compared to ball. But if I'm getting ball, Ill choose FIP for ease of effort.
  8. why you want to grow copepods? Got mandarin or fickle fishes in your tank?
  9. wah reefish you damn fierce haha
  10. naked clown! very nice and very long no see haha
  11. You can seek out Madpetz for them. I believe Ken still has stock for nano osmolator.
  12. Alternatively buy a tunze nano osmolator and hook it up to your tank. Gives you a peace of mind in your water parameters and still save electricity by employing the fan (: You have space in that ios, maximize it for the right stuff (:
  13. haha yes all are good though much fatter than before. Ah yes Aquarama. Hope you find something that fits your bill and needs (:
  14. Remember that time I buy a DE mh from you and collect it at toa payoh hdb hub. How time flies now.. Anyway bro I would have second the purchase of eheim over hailea. Though it sucks more wattage than any other pump, its reliability is unrivaled. Skimmer I will go for Reef Octopus for budget. Deltec if I can find a second hand one in good condition or I got my bonus early (:
  15. Is your glass cover covering the whole tank? I think today is hot which explains their deaths but covering the tank top prevents oxygen exchange. That can kill them too.
  16. sure, why not? for such a small tank, abit will be enough. Guideline for me is 0.5 teaspoon to a 1L of water. After that it's just monitoring your kh via kh test kits. If your kh drops by a fair bit then you slowly increase your dosage. For your size, my guess is 1 teaspoon to 1L is sufficient.
