  1. Thank you for the pics. Still a case of unwashed sand. You didn't buy caribsea sand right? Even if you did, packaging will state pre washed if it is. Nothing to do with DOC. If it is DOC, with that kind of foam, you have a big big issue on hand. Back to technical aspects, it is not wrong for bros to prescribe the way skimmer works. Downdraft skimmers work that way so do Aqua C skimmers. Only thing wrong here being prescribed is that the skimmers all have constricted nozzles to create a high pressure directed water jet to create foam. In your case, a piping will not create that much foam. It will cause foaming but not Sentosa foam party kind of look. Go change out those water with NSW and do some serious mechanical filtration. Chances are your filter pads will turn very brown. Anyway imo, ten prawns are decent for your tank size but do add more bacteria and leave tank to the elements to speed up cycling. Thats the correct way as it worked for me.
  2. Epoxy upon reaction releases chemicals. That's why. Nth too toxic. but a water change is advisable else you'll lose alot of water through the berserk skimming.
  3. Agree with Gouldian. Good chance your sand is not washed or just too many dirt in your tank causing clogs in your filter sock. Nth to do with DOC, skimmer foaming etc etc. those are not related to your problem imo.
  4. Thai horror folklore with a twist. Touching and funny with scenes that gets you tear-jerking in both ways.
  5. never specify kitchen scale is digital or spring one. hahaha nonetheless great updates bro! appreciate
  6. Generally you don't have to do dosing until you have some serious corals inside. More than usual, a water change with a good salt will default the parameters back to ideal..
  7. Donating to a friend for his upcoming project.
  8. actually chlorine is fine. If you worry about it, use some seachem prime to renove the chloramine and let your water stand overnight before putting into tank. Nonetheless it's good to do an overhaul once a while. Resetting the system to prevent overlogging of those deadweight..
  9. NSW got its downsides. Some lower Ca, some lower Mg. If your tank is populated with spses, I wouldn't play with NSW as part of overhaul. Instead I'll prefer going saltmix with distilled water though you might need a few days before hand to prepare. . Let me know if you need help

  14. Correct to bro. vtec if you're considering the efficiency of the skimmer from the skimmer's perspective. Honestly overskim or underskim from your perspective is up to you, your school of thoughts. Some people like it some people don't. Go figure. Fyi, For me I'm also using sc1455 on a 140L tank. Great investment imo. No kopi in collection cup but the neck is always filled with nasty goo. Hope this helps.
  15. FYI, your surgical mask not useful to this haze. Try to get your hands on those N95. And yes stay indoors. Crazy weather outside. Nonetheless good upgrade. Care to share the flow rate of the pump sending the water through it?
  16. Sorry bro missed out your tank being 800L. Painass abt a big tank is everything is big. Might want to consider biweekly change to match up to full 120L. Or a drive to iwarna for nsw is possible too.
