  1. hi, What circulation pump does it comes with? I never had a CR so do I need another pump to push water in and out? Thanks.
  2. hi, I have a ehiem 1262 from Jireh Marine. Got two return pumps at the end designed that his design no good and I redid the piping and use one only. This pump just got it in Jan 05. Power on test once only. $200 self collect in seng kang. Let me know if you are interested.
  3. mine also when into the rocks and hide. After a few days it will stick out its head to eat.
  4. hi, Maybe you want to add one compartment for the skimmer/skimmer pump where water level is constant so that it is easier to tune? My tank maker did not do that and wanted me to put the pump in the last compartment of the sump where water level changes. Force me to improvise a bit.
  5. hi, My pH was 8.0 in the morning and 8.5 at night before lights off. Is the swing it too wide? My KH seems rather low too at 1.8 meg/l. Should I increase KH?
  6. hi, Is this for direct plugin into 3 pin plug or we wire up terminal? What does it uses to turn on/off the circuit? I'm getting sick of those timers that keep getting stuck for my MH (tired 4 already 1 cheapo one, 2xthe ben and 1 taiyo electronic one) which is only 2x150w. BTW whats the temperature rating also. Thanks.
  7. I just tried flipping it backwards and it turn itself back to the right side very very slow. It is normal for star fish to be so slow? I saw some baby brittle stars in the sand bed they seems to move much faster.
  8. hi, I bought this red star fish from AquaMarin last night. It did not seem to have moved at all from the position I placed it. Is is normal? How to tell if a star fish is dead? Do they turn white or something? Thanks
  9. hi, Just want to find out how is the PVC elbow attached to the FR. Is it by PVC glue? What is the size of the elbow? Thanks!
  10. hi, Maybe you got media stuck in the center inlet tube and motor cannot push out water. This is what I did: 1) push into the bottom two sponges. 2) push 1 sponge into the top cover. 3) insert the cover and stick the end of the tube into the sponge. 4) With the the of the center tube inside the sponges at the bottom push the top cover aside and fill in the media. 5) Screw in the top with out pulling out the center inlet tube. hopes this help.
  11. See SPECIAL TROPICAL FISH HOBBYIST MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION RATE
  12. Chinmo you can have the Refractometer. I getting one from another reefer who stays near in seng kang instead.
  13. hi, hope you all can id this for me. Its about 1 cm long, feels kinda hard to me. It is attached strongly to the LR. Like got a shell. Did not really expect it to be something alive until I notice that its position keep shifting, but I never saw it move before.
  14. hi, Just to add I saw this article in FAMA Sand Mail column saying that the phosphate binded in LR and coral sand cannot normally be released back into the system because of the low pH required for resolution. However if a bio-flim forms over the surface, it could extract out the phosphate binded in it.
  15. Same in a book that elephant ear excrete out something after a big meal Maybe you should check if any LS missing.
  16. Would like to reserve these two: - Salifert Phosphate test kit (used 5 times) - $12 - Salifert Ammonia test kit (used 3 times) - $12 Do they have an expiry date? How long since you opened them?
  17. hi, Seng Kang tap water got NO2? Which part you stay at? I don't drive so very siong to get NSW.
  18. hi, I brought a bunch of live rocks from a fellow reefer here a few weeks back. My tank is not here so I have been keeping the rocks in a large toyogo container. Today have a bit free time an decided to give them a fresh water bath to try to get rid of some blister worms that I have been seeing around. I could not get any instead I found these two guys. One I identified as a pistol shrimp. Is the crab harmful? Thought of saving it if possible. Did not get any worms though.
  19. hi, How small are small? Fist size? I interested too, by jurong too far for me too. I stay in sengkang.
  20. goto www.vpost.com.sg to check it out. BTW $54 is with about $10 shipping (shared by 4 books total shipping about S$40). Basically the way it work is that after you sign up with vpost, buy the books from amazon and take advantage of the free local shipping offer. Vpost has a forwarder in address in USA, you send the parcel there. They will forward it to you in singapore. My experience is that if they got it by friday singapore time then you should be able to get it by wednesday the following week. This should work for other online vender accepting credit cards with singapore billing address too, I never tried others before though.
  21. Could not find any end up buying from amazon using vpost. Quite a lot cheaper. I got The Conscientious Marine Aquarist for about $54 (includes shiping) and got it within one and half weeks of ordering. Saw kinokuya selling for $77
  22. Any one knows where the marine section is? I counld not find any aquarium books at all there.
  23. My tank maker suggest to tee one my chiller return pipe to the skimmer. The return is used to feed the chiller and return to the tank. I personally think that its probably going to be too weak (using a 1262). I think I willl use it for a FR instead. I think its easier to tune a skimmer if it got a dedicated pump. as suggested by others.
