  1. The brass adapter is for you rtap. There should be a inner ring under the tap sprout that you can take out to fit that in i guess. My DI have a bypass valve on that part so that I can choose to pass water throught tap/DI.
  2. See http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=AM1113 for more info. Letting go because I got a ORP controller for my ozone.
  3. As above. Batteries not include. Collection at SengKang ReiverVale Crescent. PM me if interested.
  4. Basically its a pump that can feed small volume of water over high head and can run dry. From a website: Aqua Lifter This unique one-of-a-kind vacuum pump is designed to lift water with its diaphragm and flappers. There are many applications for this pump: drip system for reptile terrariums, watering device for chameleons and small frogs, circulating pump, water falls and dosing pumps for reef additives. For example usage see http://melevsreef.com/archives/2005_08_01_archive.html
  5. hi, I keep seeing the aqualifter pump mentioon on RC as a good pump for water top up and feeding CR or denitrator. Today I finally found it in singapore. However it only comes with an "aqua arch". Found it at pet mart. At its heart is a vaccum pump (the air pump looking thing) that do not need to be primed and can run dry and work against high head (?). Use only 3.4W
  6. I would want to know so that I WILL not spend a single cent at that shop again.
  7. Can consider a tunze Osmolator instead. Expensive but very accurate, reliable and safe. See http://www.reefdepot.com.sg
  8. BTW you would want to rinse the carbon to remove fine carbon dust.

  11. hi, I have notice many plans for auto top using float switchs and a DC/AC relay in the forum. I just found that our sponsor Reef Depot has the tunze metering pump available (see product). This pump works with 9V/12V DC so all you need now is just the float switch/es and a AC/DC adaptor. No high voltage AC involved definately safer for Reefers. I have a Tunze Osmolator so I can say that the pump is effective for moving small volume of water over high head. The pump can work with 9V. 12V will give it higher head. Hope this information is useful to fellow reefers. BTW do anyone know of other similar cheap DC pumps around?
  12. hi, Since getting an auto top-up with kalk dispenser I want to increase my evapouration rate a bit to reduce the need to dose Ca/Alk manually. So I installed a DIY DC fan today. It is placed in my sump blowing on the surface of water that runs across the top of the refugium section. The problem there seem to be a lot of salt spray around the area now. Do other reefers uing fan face this problem? Any way to reduce it?
  13. I bought 9W clip on PL lights at DIY store at basement of compass point for $8.80 each

  22. hi nice tank bro! I would suggest you leave the back bare. After a while coraline algae will grow over and it should be less visible. You puting any sand?
  23. I turn off the return pump and drain out water into a coral life salt pail and replace with water from another coral life salt pail. The salt is premix at least 24hr in advance circulated using a M820. Mixing for a while ensure that all the chemical reactions in the dissolution can complete and the water will be more "stable"
