Is the above enough for a tank this size with no Actinic Blue? Tank is stocked with fishes, LPS and mushrooms? Not considering MH at this time. Thanks for any suggestion. BTW, my coco worm (my avitar on the right) was providing "protein" to the tank this afternoon. Was donating for about 15 minutes.

For sale - Used Ehiem 2213 + accessories
Norvin Ng replied to Norvin Ng's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Hi all Sold on 9 Feb 2003. Should have posted this note sooner. -
Yeap. But still trying to figure out the "principle".... you know.... its the principle that counts.... All must be shouting "corny!!!!" Buay Tah Han!!!! Seriously... Do we place the air intake portion just on the water line in the tank/sump and when the water line goes below, water somehow (THE PRINCIPLE) will flow through the other tube into the tank/sump to balance the water line again?

So we should aim for oolong tea instead of lipton tea? Mine has been dark tea coloured all these while..... this is about one week's "supply"... for a 2.5x2x2 tank.
-
Just added a pic of it. Anyone want to get together and DIY together?

Saw this product on the web but they indicated that they have stopped production for some unstated reason. No pumps etc needed! Just a box and some tubing!!! Works on a siphon principle, it says. And always replaces only what is lost through evaporation! If it works, anyone out there able to understand the theory behind and maybe build one to try. I am still trying to figure it out. Hi AT Any else "fishy" I can look out for in BKK? Going there in March.

Was using hand squeezed garlic but alot of work and the fishes don't really like the food soak with them. My first bottle will last for more than 2 months with daily usage, thus S$20 is worth spent. Just bought a new large bottle of Kent Garlic Extreme from Sealife. Will continue soaking my pellets to feed my dearies. No sign of the white monsters at all..... Yippee!!! Am I right to say that if I do not spot any ick infection on the fishes for a few months, means the reproduction cycle is broken?

MITA has gone one step further to put all Singapore/Malaysia official agreements and documents onto the net. All (Singapore and Malaysia) can now see these for themselves where eveyone stands. http://www.mita.gov.sg/SgMy.htm

Will a Brain stung by Anemone survive?
Norvin Ng replied to Norvin Ng's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I also heard the S$500K LH owner use MH for in place of his heater for the tank. -
My wandering anemone in red decided to kiss parts of my brain coral Those part now will not expand and could see dots on them. The other parts are expanded as usual. Will it fully recover or it is already "go up the mountain" already? I read online on someone actually supergluing his anemone onto a piece of rock.... possible.....

Any comments on Marc Weiss products?
Norvin Ng replied to KingFish's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Tried two types of MW products - a clown grew real big....ME! No more.... Now just using Kalk and Seachem. -
I just open the Windows Paint Programme, skew (reduce) the picture to 20-30% of the original size and won't see AT going after me!

Any water experts out there? I thought the water will be too "clean" for use as water base for our marine tanks.

I am not an electrical person but I was fortunate to be "coached" by an lighting shop. The wires used to connect directly to all ballasts should have solid cores and not those that are "hairy". A proper ballast has wire connectors that is one-way, ie, once you slot in the solid wire, its very difficult to pull it out again. You only need to remove that much wire insulator so that no bare wire is exposed. The ballast I have even indicated how much insulator to remove. If you need to line your wires very near the ballast, you actually need to buy special heat insulator tubes (not expensive) to cover the wires as the heat may melt the wires, causing two live wires to meet and...... boom!!!! How I know? It happened to me once..... scared the ghost out of me!! Even right now when I DIY these things, I make sure I am hiding behind something as I on the switch... just to be safe....

For rookie like me, Canon iXUS V3 at S$799 is the best bet. Handy and enough features for general use. Try Parisilk at 64521593. Got most of my stuff from them at prety good prices.

What do you feed your lionfish?
Norvin Ng replied to backlash's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
When I had one, I initially took the pain to catch small fishes by the beach. Then I tried the below and it worked! Stop feeding for a few days, dangle slice fish or shrimp meat in front of it and it will start eating them, thinking it's alive. After a while, anything that that you dump in that looks white in colour, it will whack! No need to even dangle anymore. Unfortunately, it later died due to over-use of medication in my tank. Good luck! -
Hi All The yellow tang is booked as wel. Cheers

Tasumi, Thanks for all the fishes and LR. I have decided to just add on some of the LR to my tank instead of re-doing the whole thing so I still have one large red pail of it - small and medium sizes. Also will give away the medium size yellow tang from Tasumi if anyone wants it as well. Decided not to risk a WW3 in my peaceful tank. Call me if anyone wants it, 98154477. I am staying at near Sembawang MRT station. QUICK QUICK!!!! I will post an update once its taken.
