With giganteas, keeping them alive is already itself a achievement. Most infor available points to them as a extremely difficult to sustain species.
Anyway, there's an thread in RC mentioning on giganteas reproducing sexually.
Mine looks more like a Haddoni.
Search around RC and most giganteas are with extended tentacles. Very different from the one I'm holding onto.
The "posting pictures" feature seems to be off for this board so can't put up recent pictures of the specimen.
Anyone out there besides DA who's keeping Red carpets or Blue ones ?
Recently acquired a Red Haddoni and was hoping to know more reefers who have success in keeping these.
Buying that fish is one thing.. keepin it alive is another..
Latzs have a very poor record for survival.
Did consider getting them when they were available at Pac Marine but after asking around decided that its better to leave these guys to those with better facilities.
Thanks Fuel for showing the parents of the brood.
I have another batch of Black Ocelleris Clowns awaiting grow-out.
Should be available within another month or so.
Let me know if any of you guys out there are keen.
Have you considered the yellow tail chromis from Iwarna's phillipines shipment?
Saw a specimen in their 8 footer reef setup.
Nice deep blue colouration with some nice yellow lining it.
And others not regularly offered specimens that I could think of would be
carribean blue chromis
starkii damsel ( nice blue colouration )
Seems like the only piece around.
This shipment did have some other really unique coloured ones.
Many thanks to Victor of Iwarna for sourcing such good stuff for the reefing community.
