You most probably have a Plagiotremus rhinorhynchos commonly known as Bluestripe Fang Blenny. You might wanna do a search on this species and you will understand why reefers don't particularly like to add them to their reef tanks.

Try dismantling the beckett nozzle and clean the internals. If the internals are clogged with debris, performance of the skimmer will be compromised. The nozzle should look something like this. HTH

Opistognathus rufilineatus did appear years ago in our local aquarium trade. Got a pair from a LFS back then but was unsuccessful in sustaining them. There is no hard and fast rule as to the distance between the MH and water surface. Dependin on the reflector type, you will be getting a wider light spread is the MH is placed further distance from surface compromising light intensity. Nearer water surface, you'll be getting heavier intensity and more focused light source. Place your fixture according to your reefs' needs. And please do take note of salt spray as these could easily limit the performance of even the highest quality reflectors.
