  1. Ah.. that's the creation of SRC's very own resident master breeder, Mr Fuel. Think its either a sankeyi/fridmani x sankeyi/fridmani offspring or a fridmani x sankeyi/fridmani offspring. The ones that I'm holding onto are Pseudochromis sankeyi/fridmani F1 hybrids. Some incline towards the orchid colouration with more purple and some more to the stripe with very obvious black striping and bluish grey colouration. Will definitely be pairin them around and see what I will be getting as results.
  2. Will be backcrossing the above hybrid with the male sankeyi, hoping to reduce the traits of the orchid but that is provided the male sankeyi's still alive when they are sexually mature. It will most probably look like that, maybe with some showing more obvious traits of either parents.
  3. Hey guys, Been working with these: Pseudochromis sankeyi/fridmani hybrid dottybacks Breeders are Male : Pseudochromis sankeyi (Striped dottyback) Female : Pseudochromis fridmani (Orchid dottyback) Settlement numbers are small as I had less than 20 fish larve to work with. (there should be a few more still awaiting metamorphosis) Note : No fishes were harmed in the process of this video production. and apologise for the badly taken video.
  4. Hi Reefers, have the following Captive-Raised specimens for sale. Picasso Clownfish Size : Around 4 cm Price : 200 sgd Note : Clownfish is around 7 months old with white markings almost symmetrical on both sides. Picasso Clownfish Pair Sizes : Around 3.5 - 4 cm Price : 188 sgd Note : Clownfishes are about 6 months old. Please PM me to make arrangements for viewing.
  5. Your picture ain't really clear but it does look like the beckett nozzle is placed upside down.
  6. Try stripping the eggs of the males and artificially incubate the eggs. Suggest only to remove the eggs from the male after at least a week of the male holding them. You should have better hatch rates from the eggs. Do a search on "artificial incubation of banggai cardinal eggs" and you should get some ideas. For tumbling of the eggs, I suggest using water flow administered from a rigid airline tune. Seems to work better than air. HTH
  7. Saw a unit in Iwarna's LPS display tank last friday. You might like to check it out and see it in action. If I'm not mistaken, the model is 10 ML. runs 25 watts and churns out up to 10 000 litres/hr flow. That's quite a lot of flow for a pump that small.
  8. If I did not get my facts incorrect, the pair of latz that digiman has are captived raised specimens by Karen Brittain in Hawaii. Wild ones are endemic only to Australia.
  9. Really Nice Rockscape. and please click "The Coral Gardener" for more pictures and infor on this fabulous reef setup. p.s. Anyone notice the orange spotted filefish?
  10. IME, the so "nicked" raindow montipora only develops the orangey red polyp colouration in areas of new growth. That's why small specimens as in fragmentations would appear with vivid colouration due to new growth especially when placed on frag plugs and allowed to grow out. I have so far not seen a large specimen of so named "rainbow montipora" that had the consistency orangey red polyp colouration, mostly blue base with green polyps. Only areas of new growth are endowed with the mentioned polyp colouration. Maybe others might be able to chip in with their experience.
  11. That should be a montipora undata. Do a search on "Jedi's Mind Trick montipora" and you will be able to get some images. Believe this specimen came in from a batch of SPS shipment a few months back and were plentiful. Unfortunately, not many reefers took notice of them as the polyp colouration weren't so evident back then, and yes, they seems to colour up with more intense polyps colouration and nice purple rims under stronger lightings.
  12. Interesting... white digitatas...
  13. To add on to the above infomation, do remember the eggs! Eradicating the adults won't rid you of the problem if there are eggs left behind. And if you notice the symptoms associated with AEFW, chances are there's most probably a established colony happily munching away in your reef. Unfortunately, most remedies for AEFW does not work on the eggs so manual removal is the often the only way to get rid of them. Do a search on "AEFW eggs", and you should get some idea how they look like.
  14. Have you checked with Bubber on his seahorses? Another place to find them would be CF. Captive raised kudas.
  15. Looking for a small Powder Blue. any of these available @ the LFFs in Pasir Ris ?
  16. Glad you like the little one. Thanks Jeremy
  17. Bro, Fridmanis are one of the least aggressive dottybacks that are able to be kept in groups unlike the other more aggressive ones. For a 4 footer reef setup with ample rockscape, I would recommend groups of 6 to 10 if you are considering gettin a harem. I would recommend adding multiple juveniles prior to them becoming sexually mature since they are protogynous hermaphrodites (dominant specimens developing into males in pairs/groups). if everything goes well, you will soon have them spawning in reefs. Not really difficult getting them to spawn, whereas raising their larve is another issue. Do PM me if you are considering flooding your reef with these beauties..
  18. Here's some stuff that I have been working on. Picasso Clownfishes (Amphiprion percula) Orchid Dottybacks (Pseudochromis fridmani) Apologise for the badly taken videos. Enjoy !!
  19. Very Nice Non-Photosynthetic Reef Tank
  20. Small sized Orchid Dottybacks at Iwarna. Good for those who would like to get them in pairs especially for nano setups.
  21. Some Information here There is some information in the above-mentioned link that refers to these blennies being reefsafe.
