From what I have read, there are various sub-spieces of the goni... There is a species which many called the Jewel coral and this specimen seems to do well in reefs..... and you happen to be having that specimen..... Jus can't seem to remember where I got this infor from....

Planteq, from the pictures you posted, I reckon there isn't much of a issue redoing the pipework..... cut the PVCs before the elbows, install in adaptors for the flexible tubing and you should be ok......

Hi Planetq, I'm currently with a 6540, supposlingly running on 100 watts with a 2880 l/hr output.... If you need to test run it to see whether it gives a better flow output, pls PM me .... You might also wanna consider your pipe work again..... every PVC elbow instlled into the pipework brings down the flow rate by a tremendous lot.... have you consider using flexible tubing instead.....?????

I have a pink pocillopora colony sitting 2 inches from my sandbed, shaded by other SPS colonies and its colouring up...... really nice pink.... Fact is some of my Acros seems to colour up with less lighting..... I have frags of a staghorn is various positions in my reef and thw one that's placed further away from the lights is colouring up into a purple whereas those placed up high there only possesses purple tips.......

I have use both Teco and Hailea chillers too...... My 1.25 HP Hailea chiller has so far be doing fine cooling my 5 footer reef which is running on 3 x 250 W MHs.....

This is really unfair...... I have the same 250 BLVs jus like yours and I dun get the colour purple..... ... BTW, good growth that you have there...... Any other reefers want this "potientially purple but currently brown" bird nest frag??? ..... Gonna do a massive fragging session again.....

I want a woman who's willing to spend hours sitting next to me viewing the acros in my reef without getting bored...... won't mind me spending all my money on strange and colourful calcium carbonates..... whose idea outings for weekends is to spend time running around the whole of Singapore searching for LFS and livestock......, in the eveninings of very other day, logged onto SRC .... and wouldn't mind more than 5 large sized full fledge SPS reefs in my home and wouldn't nag when I receive the PUB bill.... Heh heh heh... think I better stop dreaming.......

Applying a layer of epoxy onto the affected area up to healthy flesh works for me.... the other alternative is to frag it.....

DeepBlue, thats a Black sailfin alright.... IMO, one of the best for algae maintanence.... I have one with me for nearly 2 years and have never fail me in algae cleaning up......

Yeah..... think I might have a Flame Anthias instead... noticed the red stripes along the edge of the caudal finnage..... Bad news is these specimens are very hard to feed..... Think they are not gonna make it......

Hi Reefers, Jus acquired 4 so called Dispars yesterday.... all males... with one that looks like it has the potential to be a alpha.... and BTW, was browsing through some books at borders and realised that there are other species of anthias that look very much like Dispars with very minor differences..... eg...the so called Flame Anthias..... and also the Carberri Anthias... question is how do I know whether what I have is a Dispar???

I'm aiming for 12 dKh.... notice that my calcium reactor holds that reading easily .... but that was when my reef was partially stocked...... now, I give up......
