  2. Awesome.... Looks like I will be headin over often... Always love the colours of the purple queens but have refrained with the understanding taht they are almost impossible to keep.... Now there seems hope.... Maybe you could let out some of your secrets to keeping these alive since you have such a large school.....
  3. Woah.... you managed to get those purple queens to feed?? and how long have they been in your reef?? If you do have long term success, I will most probably be knockin on your door asking for details as to how to keep them alive for so long... that is after I have setup my new reef....
  4. You forgot to mention the fragmentation capabilities that comes along with it.... Especially useful for a visitation to your reef..... Ok... so anyone interested???
  5. Yes... manual on and off..... J/k...

  8. Yup.... I have other specimens available... All wild colonies will be given at least 3 months to aclimitize to reef conditions prior to fragging....... Extreme coloured specimens like the purple stag that you mentioned will be given a longer period.... maybe even years..... Jus some practices enforced to ensure better quality stocks.....
  9. Nope ... but you are welcome to view it prior to making any commitments....
  10. Another reasonable sized orange Montipora Cap, this time sized around 4 inches diameter and encrusted onto a 6-7 inches liverock... Next to the cap is a nicely encrusted greenish brown acropora showing some really good growth.... I'm releasing this piece at $80.... (liverock, small acro colony and of course the Orange Montipora)... Please PM me if interested....

  12. Yes, A surge device is defnitely gonna screw up your sump water levels.... Myself am also in the process of designing a surge device .... infact 2 units each capable of unleasing at least 30 - 60 litres of water within seconds... These are some of the plans that I will do to encounter the following problems... I will build a sump with a larger reservoir unit... basically to factor in the amount of water needed to fill the 2 surge devices...... and also to ensure that the sump doesn't overflow whent he surges are made... For the utilisation of the auto top up, this problems can be solved eith the following...... utilisation of timers on the pump feeding the surge devices..... The pump feeding the surges will be deactivated before lights off.... and the top up activated... therefore giving ample time for the top up of water during lights off... There is however one issue with this...... the surge devices might be partially filled when the pump feeding it gets deactivated... so true volume of the water level might not be accurate......
  13. Hey, I would also like to be part of " Skimmate of the year" contest...

  16. IMO, T5s can never replace MH in intensity... they do however provide pretty good colours on some of those reefs that are using them.. Vincent, You would have to seriously consider whether you might be headin towards SPS in the nesr future... cos if that is the intention, would suggest that MHs be seriously considered as the primary mode of illumination... of cos... do factor in the need for a expensive utility bill....and chiller...

  18. Hi Keith, nice to meet you.... The monti looks a little small from the way its been taken.... BTW, upgrade your lights... Your reefs should be able to handle SPS since its been up for quite awhile.... Some time spent on the SPS and advanced reefers forum should do some good..... Do a few upgrades here and there and you should be on your way to a soon to be full fledge SPS reef.... And once you are ready, maybe we could go raid Hon's Reef... You take the acros .... I go for the equipment...
