  1. If you could afford it... go 400 watts...... I had the opportunity to observed the colouring behaviour of SPS under different intensity of lightings .....and noticed that they colour up much more quickly under such conditions... In fact, if lightings are intense enough, the possibility of a specimen turning brown when transferred to a new environment is greatly reduced.... Cos if that happens, getting it to colour up will take some time.....
  2. Sorry guys, Xenias have either been taken or reserved... My apologies to those who have PM-ed me and not receive any reply....
  3. all these talks on gobies tempting me.... Guess I will go the goby way once my reefs up.... The yashias will definitely be one of the critters in my reef....
  4. Hi Guys, I have 3 pieces available... have healed from a previous cut made on the parent colony... cuttings have healed and currently pulsing aggressively... roughly 2 inches sizing.... Releasing them at $10 each.... Please Pm me if you are keen.... There are also some SPS frags available....
  5. Woah...... how much damage did that specimen did to your wallet???
  6. I reckon that the only difference between a conventional built reactor compared to a fluidised one is the pump.... Put something that churns out more volume into a conventional one and the reactor would be in fluidised mode....that is also of course based on the media sizing.... not also to mention the amount of wattage required to run such pumps..... Was also examining where the location of the effluent exits from the network of pipings in reactors as culprits to weird low readings in effluent pH.... noticed that in come models, the effluent is linked to the output of the pump... jus directly after the CO2 gets dissipated by the pump impellor...... was wondering how much CO2 gets released into the reef even before it gets into the chamber...... esp with reefs running on high effluent drip rates.....
  7. HI Guys, Got a second hand unit for sale... At $250.. Comes with pump.. PLs PM me if you are keen....
  8. for the benefit of the other reefers... http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...793&hl=silencer
  9. do a search on silencers.... Think spade did one for his beckett...
  10. Like to tag onto this thread... I, too have some livesand for reefers wanting to seed their reef... Grade 1 ...... I'm located in Bedok North .... PM or SMS me ... (bring your own containers) (Ming, hope you don't mind ) You supply livesand to reefers in the west, I take the east....
  11. Interesting.... Isn't this the 2nd time that you are giving up??? Whats happening?
  12. Hi guys, Any you guys who lives around the Bedok/East area.....??? Lookin for reefers/kakis who would like to hang out in the 85 Hawker centre..... for supper...
  13. Errrr.... do let me know if you managed to find one..... I'm also interested....
  14. Pm me when you are ready.... So... anyone else lookin for a eheim 1048???
  15. Check with AT, he did mentioned previously that the local supplier of Iwasaki bulbs might be working out some deals with SRC.... Check your PM...
  16. The specs on the spectrum chart states RX7s and FC2s... They are DE in nature......
  17. Max, Thanks for the input. The issue here actually deals with getting such high dkH with pH of 7 and above... currently to me seems a little unrealistic..... that is, with non fluidised reactors I could only reason out that such readings registered on your deltecs is due to its fluidised capabilities.... maybe I should try exploring into how they function.... and here is where I would need your vauluable input since you do run a unit on your reef... But as for now, I have been working with secondary chambers/dual chambers to improve efficiency....
  18. Maybe those guys with CRs might like to show some readings regards the pH...... esp those with the korallin... wait a minute, I suppose to get a Korallin this few days ... shall check out its performance.... http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...calcium+reactor was with a fellow reefer last night and we were discussing about the Deltec registering high on dkH.... and it might be due to the amount of fine Calcium particles due to fluidised action ... was mentioned by robe too in the thread..
  19. Actually this is a point worth having a discussion on... With understanding that most media burning within the 6.5- 6.8 pH range.... and ARM efficient dissovling within the 7 pH range, it is really difficult to see how any reactors can produce that kind of results based on what you classify as "efficient"...... It jus doesn't make any sense..... I did contact Weileong as to whether the effluent or the reactor chamber as being milky but the results is so far negative....
  20. errr... max... you sure you read the post correctly??? where did you get the 4-6 drop per min???
  21. Workstation and now coke/pepsi??? You must be bored....

    Weld On Product

I was at a shop near kelantan lane that specialise with PVC materials.... Spoke to them regards a adhesive thats able to stick PVCs to acrylics.... well, they did mentioned that theres a kind of glue thats able to do that but would be expensive as it has to be shipped in from the states..... the other alternative to this is to use clear schedule 40 PVCs..... or build your project entirely out of acrylics....

    Weld On Product

errr.... hes refering to adhesive for acrylic products.... Hey thc, Whats worng with the standard adhesives available???
  24. You might have a problem with your returns.... solution... 1) get a check valve... (expensive) 2) or drill a small hole in the piping of your returns jus slightly beneath the waterline..... This is to break the back siphon when your pump fails.... This should solve your problem......
  25. Well, Fishes are pretty unpredictable regards to their diet... I bought that fella because of its known reputation to rid aiptasia.... which never happened.... Its goes for the mysis and the vast number of copepods available in my holdin reef instead.... well, it does look healthy and did control the pods population though... It has however not harress any of my favourite stuff..... AZ-NO3 although works... but its not a long term solution... Do you have a DSB or a denitration device installed??? What's your nitrate levels ?? and how long has your reef been running??? Hmmm a 7 footer reef.... maybe you should start a thread in the members forum to showcase your reef and post some specs ..... It would help ..... that is of course if you listen to the right people.... Yup, lady.... its a lemon Peel mimic.... as shown on your avatar...
