I got some from there too... Really good shapes for rockscaping... Been starin at my reef often ever since then though my reef only contains rocks.. Reefing does crazy things to people...

The mantis shrimps makes sounds in succession.. well, at least mine did.. that is till I managed to annihilate it.. and all was peaceful again till pistols are added deliberately... I was reading a article previously and it did mention that 'pops' in succession actually indicates the presence of a Mantis, the smasher version....

Oops... miss this post of yours, Scarab.. Yes, the eheim 16/22 mm hose is compatible for the hose adpator used for the FR. If there is any intenion to use the Eheim 1048 as a dedicated pump for the FR, a stepdown connector would be appropriate. Another pump suitable to run this unit would be the Eheim Compact Pump.. 600 litres per hr at 11 watts but with a lower price tag compared to the 1048.

There is a high chance that you have Pistol Shrimps.... or worse... Mantis shrimps......

I stand in agreement with that.

You are definitely giving Alfa a hard time....hmmm.. Tell you what... I have space for your rejects if things dun work out...

Interested in 1 and 2 . Any pics or opportunity to view?
-
Not interested in the Angel..... Can't say the same for the acros... Do I get some frags during my next visit?

Which lighting is suitable for shallow 2ft tank?
Joe_P replied to Jun Hong's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
I have used MHs exclusively for my last reef and am now heading towards a 2 footer reef fired up entirely by T5s.. 8 pieces of them.. You are welcome to take a look in the near future.. that is if you like to see some colours. -
A double beckett for a 6 inch Chamber IMO, is overkill... In fact, many of the Dual Becketts built for my customers eventually run on single becketts with a single MD 55 and perform satisfactory.. As for myself, will stick to a single beckett.. unless I build a skimmer with at least a 8 inch chamber... The attached pic is of a Reef Maniac Dual Beckett 7 inch skimmer. Notice the foam consistency even though unit's only running on one beckett fired up by a MD 55.

No news of pricing yet but we will attempt to make it affordable..

Yes.. you can frag a bubble... Contact me and I will show you how.
-
Darn, You jus foiled my frag collection master plan.

I demand pictures of the 6 footer!! Please also include closeup shots of every Acropora specimen without any pictures being edited. Also demanded are information of the period each specimen have been in the reef. These information would prove very useful prior a visit to your reef. That is once evrything is in order and hunting season commences.....

I love the AT... Jus wondering if I could place one into my 2 footer..
-
My reef would be ready soon.. And I do have a rough idea of what would look good in my reef.

No pics at the moment. My equipment are all in place. would be firing up my Beckett Skimmer and getting my CR online by Monday. And in a matter of days.... all the cool stuff would be coming into their new home. and pics will be made available ...
-
Yup.. No DSB. Be a little more careful with my reef maintanence and nitrates should be kept in check. That is of course with some help from proper equipment. Wanted to head for a bare bottom reef too but due to a specific requirement for a fauna that I intend to obtain... had to go with some sand.

Very nice sis Flubb. I would be interested in a pair of golden neon gobies.. so if you guys do spot them, pls notify me. And here's a pic of my 2 footer rock aquascaping. Nothing much in there yet but stuff should be flooding it soon and that is when my beckett's plumbed in and CR's online. Man... transferring the CR across with its full contents is a killer.

Hey scarab, Do I get a chance to view that piece in your reef? and at the same time take a really closer look at that fabulous SPS reef of yours too.

Happy Birthday Pal.

This is my experience regards the above.. I have zoos and acros situated on same piece of foothold and both seems to be doing well. only issue with the zoos is that they do grow enough to soon take over precious space that the SPS could use for added ground. I do think that softies and SPS coule be allocated in a same reef except constant replenishment of GACs and efficent skimming would be a regular feature for such a reef. One more issue is regards to the nutrient level in a reef. I do notice that in my previous SPS reef that softies don't do well and I thought that it might have to be due to the reef being nutient starved, a direction that many SPS or would be reefers would likely head towards.

Well, I heard that if they are a pair, then it would work.... or did I hear wrongly? Yup, most probably would.. Trying to get as much space as possible to overload my reef with acros since its rather small... Have siliconed a black acrylic plate at the back of the reef as potiential frag playground if not enough estate is found... Will try to get some pics up of my rockwork aquascaping.
