  1. Nope... but reef is now 80% full fledge. Some stocks that became part of the household... 1) 1 pair of Yashias White Ray 2) 6 pieces of Eviota gobies 3) 3 Heli shrimps 4) 2 Peppermints 5) 3 ###### Shrimps 6) 1 Pom Pom Crab 7) 10 Dwarf Zebras Hermits 8) 1 pistol shrimp
  2. Can't help it..... Reef's ready and lookkn for colourful stuff to cover the ###### sandbed... My apologies for hijackin your thread.... OK... back to Lugols' solution sale....
  3. I will take it if a Pink Yuma comes along with it as a free gift.....
  4. Frag them..... send them to me and wait 6 months to 1 year for the frags to grow into colonies... PM me then and you can come over and collect some frags...
  5. I have a colony previously that did jus this.. Got it sh*t brown .. Morphed into a dark green after 3 months then into emerald green in another 3 months. Turned bright yellow with green polyps in another 3 months and pink tips start to appear on the the colony..its a tricolour (weird colouration though) and a really long wait. but it finally go up lorry due to my last downgrade. Fortunately, I still have some frags in others reef.. only one issue is to figure out which reefer got them... hoping thay did not turn brown. Hate the idea of going thru the whole process again.. Now waiting for my brown milli to regain its pink body with blue scales colouration .
  6. Alan, like the way you think... except one issue... it sometimes take a really long time for them to colour back... even in good conditions.. Ever waited 9 months for one to colour up??
  7. Hi Guys, Thanks for your er.. hem..."descriptive comments". It would however be appreciated if you start new threads in the Marine Aquarium forum and let jc85 continue and bring to conclusion this thread as it is meant to be... A "Product Review" thread.
  8. I'm thinking of getting one too... The best thing to get this thing alive for the long run is to get it to feed on processed or frozen food.
  9. It's the result from SRC's very own Dr Evil. Workmanship's great. And looks very commercial indeed. I'm definitely another satisfied customer, jus like the many others before me.
  10. We will be monitoring closely the performance results of the Reef Becketts with the utilisation of the MD 40. If the MD 40 does give good results, then running Becketts' no longer a strain on the pockets..
  11. Do let me know whenever you like to drop by for a visit..
  12. Tyrobin, Do take into account that the acrylic material used contributing to the lack of foaming into your skimmer... New acrylic tubes might need some time running to rid off traces of chemical/ residues that come along during their manufacturing process.. these sometimes affect the foaming ability ... That is why some reefers recommend rinsing the reaction chambers of new skimmers with mild detergent before firing up the unit. Run it for a few days... if by then, nothing happens, then something is really wrong. But from the way you describe and the pics posted, its most probably the need to "run in" the skimmer.
  13. 3 Delightful events that took place today.. 1) I receive my 2 sets of 4 x 24W T5s. Thos 8 units of Aquaz Bluepro bulbs are intense ... No tint of blue but jus extremly white light. I love my reef look. 2) Reef is now 20% to that of a full fledge SPS reef. 3) The elusive duo of Yashia White Ray Shrimp gobies (thought dead previously) pop out upon lights hitting the reef. What a Great Day ...!!
  14. Bring a frag of that when you head over here... Some more pictures please..!!
  15. With strong lights, oversized Calcium Reactor with multiple secondary chambers, excellent water circulation and Beckett filtered pristine clear water.... what do you think? You get to stay longer if you bring a larger quantity of frags... (I accept only reds, pinks, yellows and blues...)
  16. What pump are you firing that Barr's unit of yours... If its a MD 55, you should be getting good results... even with the valve under throttle back half... a MD 40 might not get you the results you desire.... but would still work.
  17. Don't you know?? Its a new trend.... Named : " small reefs with darn blinding lights..." And of course also backed up by Becketts, oversized Calcium Reactors... and over grossly sized items.....
  18. growin most out of frags... small colonies would be accepted. Will watch them grow to be a full fledge reef is definitely a interesting thing. Welcome to the club.
  19. Its a new trend.... They call it... "Small reefs with darn blinding lights... "
  20. to obtain dry skimate, try closing the air valve till you notice really fine bubbles...then adjust the water level to the base of the neck which leads to the collection cup... you should get really thick skimmate in no time....
  21. I never like heavily structured reefs..... prefer ample space for the stuff to grow and develop..esp since they are pretty quick growers, they should soon give the reef a really "full" look..... Give me a little time and you would soon understand...
  22. That height should be jus nice ( a good 3 inches from water surface) ..... I'm expecting some really cool growth out of those stuff that I'm dumping in within the next few days... 6 X T5s?? nah... I'm heading for 8.. hmmm now that you mention it... WHEN IS MY NEW 8 TUBE RETROFIT COMING IN !!!!!!
  23. Well, thats a good method .... Ever wonder why I left my LRs in FW for 2 days before I ever rockscape??
