  2. Hi guys, Heres a picture of a Garden Eel in my so called large Nano... Cute fella.
  3. Did a search on RC and came up with the following.. These nudis are extremely hard to kill!!!! There a few suggestions. 1)Potassium Permanganate dip . (anyone knows how I can get it locally??) recommended dosage for dip. 25 mg per gallon. 2)Kents Poly Ox.. (what the h**k is this?) 3)Someone in RC mentioned that tetra marine oodmed consist of the chemical Quinine Hydrochloride dihydrate in 1261.7 mg as the major element. Was wondering the few tubes of quinine that I'm holding from the last "flatworm busting" event here would work....? Finally, elimination with biological means don't seems to work.
  4. Sixliners even as adults are relatively small. The only issue with them is that once they are adaoted to a reef begin to show an extremely aggressive attitude towards new additions. I nickname them the "small terror"
  5. Ok... this is the latest update.. According to valuable advice from our very own Danano, I have applied superglue to the underside of the montis (both caps and encrusting kinds) that is after I have siphon out the adults using a 10ml syringe. The superglue is applied and allowed to flow over the dead areas covering and suffocating all remaining egg clusters. (since such would take 6 months to hatch and would bring another term of grief). All montis affected are placed into a holding reef which would also be home to 2 starved sixliner and canary wrasse. I have also purchased a small sixliner and canary for my main reef... let's hope their small size would give my ###### shrimps longer lifespan... Jus curious, any other fishes that would peove valuable for the elimination of parasites?
  6. Jus did a inspection on the montis.... and to my horror found much more lurking beneath the monti caps....
  7. you only need to feed them if the clams are small... larger ones would have gather enough zooxanthelle to generate foodsource... Only the gigas maintain their ability to filter feed even as adults.... BTW, nice clams you have there.... do let me know whenever you go clam hunting.. would like to tompang some.

  17. Jus wondering if there are any other reefers out there keen on starting up Nanos, Maybe could get them together, get a reliable tankmaker and order in a large sheet of starpire glass, get it cut into suitable sizings and making multiple tanks. Jus wondering how the sizings and price of 6 mm starppire glass? and what the total cost of each unit would be like? Anyone interested? Eh... RAV 65, sorry for the off topic post..
  18. Hehe..... Nanos with gobies are a good way to start them... Surfedelic, I have my sand bed only 1 inch thick and the deepest 2 inches in my reef. The two garden eels so far in my reef's doing pretty fine.
  19. Putting a external overflow box to this reef of yours and a sump might be a good idea..... gives you much more space in the already small area... The additional water volume thru the addition of a sump would definitely help in the stability of watyer parameters.... Anyway, if this idea of yours ever come to pass.... Welcome to the world of the Nanos.....
  20. Ancelot, If the birdnest really have purple polyps as stated.... I would like to take one....
  21. Very nice.... Like the way your stuff grows in your reef....
