I'm holding on for more corals, keeping tracks of changes in the next 4 months and see wheather growth of the existing corals is happening. As for now all seemed ok.. all ANN stays "0" for the past 2 months, and I hope it stays that way forever ..hehehe... Now time to enjoy the tank and not forgeting abiding weekly maintainance chores.

No problem, we are here to learn from each other, "The Blur Leading The Blind and hopefully those with eyeglasses show us the way"...so to speak. So happened you asked....I follow a strict rule of doing 25% waterchange once a forthnight plus 3 times water top-up(addatives used :Seachem Reef Trace, Plus and Iodine) and not forgetting vacumm detrius(done with a gravel pump)...how your routine then?

Don't feel bad ler, forumers from Sgreef and also my local marine forum and not to forget some websites have been my online tutors ever since I started off with my 2ft pilot tank...and had began to understood a little here and there about marines which I started with zero knowledge. I owed everyhting to you guys/gals. I had no immeadiate friends nor neighbours to ask, wonders of the internet had made My First Marine a reality... Thanks again, all for advices and pointers....now lies the task of maintaining the tank to its expectation and hope it will last for a long time...still I consider myself a newbie, lots of things to learn, setbacks to encounter, caring of corals and fish habits, tank maintainances and water chemistry whereby the knowledge which is needed to ensure success...wish me luck.

Thanks...I do feed my other corals with planktons, currently using 3 types : Golden Pearl- Aquaz, Dried Sprayed Phytoplanton - ESV and 5 in 1 Liquid Sea Plankton - AquaPham usually at night (all lights off) never thought that my sunsoral do feed on them.

It is SunCoral..quite difficult to keep. Need low lightings (placement-lower levels preferably). Needs target feeding - minched market shrimps. I'm using this technic to feed them ( see attached pic)..fish do get to steal the food away, it is a slow eater, 1 minched shrimp might take up 6-8 hours to finish. Feeding time - when all lights are off. btw..I'm not from Sg...I'm your closest neighbour.

Thanks,....well I have waited about 3 months before getting this 4ft. 2 months running my 2 footer (my learning stage). Bought all the neccessary equipment at that stage and always buy those which can support a bigger tank. After venturing this new hobby(reading, researching and joining variuos forums) which I know nothing of (been keeping freshwater fishes only all my life), MARINES - entirely a different world/scenario, bigheadache but challenging !..It's is certainly a 'Big Hole in the pocket hobby'...luckily for me we both (wifey and family) had given me the support I wanted....it all started because of "Nemo"...hehehehe

yup...had a helping from my son, doing his 2nd yr in polytech and also from a certified electrician friend who gave me the advice and drawing up the circuit board. Since I have about 13 electrical appliances running the tank, it would be a logical thought that 1 wall socket won't hold the electric flow. Every 2 appliances is run through 1 X 20amp fuse.

nice tank bro... Thanks...just a start for a newbie though but i feel that the amount of LR is not enough for a 4 ft tank. mine is about 100kg and i dun find it enough still. ..think should be ok..those LR i got are large bulky ones...adding corals later, I think might go up to the top of the tank. and also i dun think 2 x Seio m620 is good enough for your tank. I'm using 3 x M820 and current is only so so Yep if thats the only pumps to the internal water around the tank...presently my tank water movement is ok...other the the two seio devices(each facing the glasswalls), I have 2X 4800lhr(primary -direct return, secondary - via chiller) return pumps and 1 canister pumps aiding the water flow(estimated calculation 14X)....more than that would surely cause a whirlpool.... From my understanding about Seio device it's not a powerhead..water movement is being projected radially(soft water streams) not like ordinary powerheads which project a hard stream of water (might hurt corals) btw..thanks for the tips.......just my 0.05 cents
