DE lah bro.......250watts DE with spider reflectors

than why wait ......let me work on something. yes, im not saying that the reflectors are not shinning... but there are better grade mirror finish material that can be used for better reflection. give me 2 weeks n i will come out with mine... maybe the selling price will be slightly above sgd200.....will that be attractive enough?? anyone keen?

hi bro, i have even check on the glass quality of the reef optix....they are using a 3mm tempered glass.... u bought so cheap?? how come my this unit it sgd300?? have u include freight? yes, the reflectors are easy to make....can do an exact shape n size. but i find the quality of the reflectors are very poor. there are better grade reflectors in the market. the reef optix ones are not that shiny....this is what i observe

u should be having the best beckett in the market rite now.....have not seen better. Unless someone want to built those like in coral farms

indeed the DE fixture comes with a spider reflector.....and the reflectors have a large spread. a good design to copy... stay tune

best lightings for refugium is 6.5k spectrum as its good for growth. the number of watts required is depending on how big ur refugium is. if u can afford it, you can use 2x24watts t5 with a 6.5kk tubes. that will definate promote growth to your micro algaes. PL tubes run abit hot compare to t5....... my 2 cents worth

actually the color blend is very nice.....not to blue not to white...if u think its too blue, u should use 3 white n just 1 blue... cheers

hi bro, a MH bulb can last atleast 1 yr before it looses its intensity....but for t5, most reefers replace them after 6 mths of firing and also that depends on the number of hrs running. well, diy MH setup are definately cheaper than 6-8 t5s. btw, the cost of 80watts t5 are expensive...so do the tubes... if i were u, i run 2x250watts with 2 t5 suppliment..... or maybe 3x250watts to have a good spread...

hi bro, not necessary to run 2x400watts......u can run 2x250watts with maybe 2 t5 actinic suppliment. u only run 400watts unless u are going for full sps..... t5s are ok but u need a shallow tank...t5 are higher running cost compare to MH. u must also think of the bulbs replacement etc... my 2 cents worth

are u refering to MH??? if yes, MH component consist of 3 items. magnetic ballast, ignitor, capacitor. If all this are wired and place in a housing, than it will call a MH control gear. When they mention remote, it should meant external. Eballast = Electronic ballast which will not have any of the above mention. They are more costly and run much cooler.... hope this is clear

there are pro and cons for using both bulbs. As for DE bulbs are more expensive than the SE bulbs. I think find SE bulbs have more choices and for those who intend to diy, the best is still the SE bulbs. SE bulbs do not require UV glass but, when you get a SE fixture, they tend to be rather big compare to DE fixtures. As for me, im using DE bulbs but i still find most DE fixture does not come with a good reflectors. So it will not have a good spread. I may be wrong... for a cheaper alternative and value for $$, i still find SE are better.... my 2 cents..
