Coralreef, How much did you buy the LR for? They have lots of LR but the state of the LR are quite bad.......ammonia smells is so strong and also very muddy...... Are they any LFS that selling good LR nowadays??? Cheap and good...........?

My filter is an internal overflow system. Filled with coral chips and filter wool. Also using polyfilters in there. Im also using a canister and attached a UV sterilizer. I do have carbon (seagel) is my canister but it is about 6mths old. Do you think its time to be replace? Or how long can the carbon need replacement. Using a sanders protien skimmer but felt that its too small for the tank. Same LFS says that protein skimmer is not neccesary is you do regular water change. Is it true? Will try and see your advise works. Thanks for all the help.

currently, im using 1 power head only......does it have any inpact if i use more than 1 power head? with all the algae, how can i clean and maintain it?
