DIY a hood...... to incorperate the MH....

dont use end caps......the water will b trapped if the holes are too small. Im also using a T joint but i have cut a few holes at the bottom of it. Works well..........

to be safe, the bulbs should be around 8-10inches above the water level. As it is not waterproof, it will be dangerous if with contact with water. If the bulbs is too close, the water will be heated up easily.... Do remember that u need fan for ventilation. If not, ur hood become sauna......

if u are refering to SE type, yes the bulb are all UV coated. Yes, it can be used without the glass shield..... have fun diying.....

i tried cleaning in the tank b4..... but after thorough rinsing.....still no casualties....

looking good.......why not use egg crates or pvc pipes to reduce the number of LR? with the number of LR used, it can definately hide the crates. as for ur tank size, ur LR can be easily @ 150-200kg.... which will cost u a bomb.....not to mention ur lightings fixtures...

hi bro, u never mention on using MH.....how many watts u looking at??300watt?500watt?1000watt? that is the killer compare to chiller........ my teco is only 400watt......will not consume must as it is not activate all the time!!

dino, this is my sandbed in my sump that im disturbing.....very worried that it crash.... if for Coral chips, i not worried.........btw, i got no coral chips in there......

hi guys, i need to modify my refugium ###### sump to fit in my new skimmer. Question, can i disturb my 3 mth old refugium sand bed...... ? what my plan is, remove all the sandbed, micro algaes in the refugium, cut the glass partition in my sump to broaden the space. once done, place back the sandbed amd micro algaes. once the sand is settled, run back the main pump.... will that crash my system? need advise on this......
