  13. wow... so fast you sold your stuffs. i also very tempted lah... exchange with PS3 hehehe up for your aquebee 3000
  14. OR 6500 runs "zero" heat on the pump casing. i mean it has a good insulation inside the pump and when it runs, the heat will not able to transfer on it casing. i run it on external for my 2nd return. when you touch it, there is no temp at all. eheim is a good pump and it can runs and uses for a long time. but it generates a lot of heat as pump goes bigger. i used eheim on my 1st return. for the sicce, it does generate a lot of heat and much hotter. it don't have any insulation inside the casing (i guess).
  15. hehe... since your is bare bottom, and you want colourful sps... there are two ways 1. use the conventional way to keep your p04 and n03 as undetect. keep your water change regular (5% per week) and dose some AA to feed your sps or you feed a lot to your fishes, that will feed your sps too. 2. use zaovit system to keep your nutrients very low and use all their supplement products to colour up your sps. of course regular water change is encourage. this is en expensive system to keep up with. there are many more ways... that had discovered over the years, if you keep track with it. so, adopt the system that suit you or you like. i wish i can keep sps again but i can never have the time that i had before to keep them colour up or survive
  16. haha... in fact i am very impressed with the skimz skimmer that amos' post the design looks cool. i like the white outlook just wonder, skimz skimmer uses aquabee 2000/2000i. i assume it is 2000i, the power consumption for each pump is 38W (3x38w=114w). as for deltec, it uses eheim 1260 pump, so each pump draws 65w (2x65w=130w).
  17. you are right if you compare the power consumption with deltec (3x ehiem needlewheel pumps) with skimz monster (3x aquebee needlewheel pumps). however, i believe that performance will be different if you are comparing two different pump amos, good skimmer that you invested in
  18. deltec AP702 uses 2x ehiem 1260 needlewheel pump which is much stronger then the aquebee pump.
  19. wow!!! amos, you stock up so fast somemore you are so busy great tank!
  20. no worries for overdose. i was using the kalk reactor and use kalk for my water top-up in my 100g tank and of course with auto top-up controller. daily, my tank need to top-up about 2-3L of water. i used to dump in 10 teaspoons for my kalk reactor and wash it in every 2 weeks as log as you slowly top it up with kalk water into your tank, it should be ok.
  21. hi, i don't think you will over dose your kalk. i used to use it for my water top up for years. and i does promote good coraline algae grow. anyway, i am using kalk to top-up my frag tank (mainly softies). the corals are growing well
  22. hahaha... sound great from your coming set up and experiences. hope to hear from you more. i remember when i only used 2xfans for my 3x2x2 tank with sps and lps many years back... i switch on my air-con at night (i place my tank in my room) and then used the fans for the day time to maintain the temp between 26 - 28.5 with 1x250W MH + 2xT5 39w. in fact, one of my good friend is still using his room air-con and fan with 1x250W HM for his 2ft sps set-up great! more pictures from your set-up ya
  23. i got another frag to exchange. very interesting zao i found it is olive green skirt with green mouth. the center is baby-blue (under blue light) and white-blue (with 20kk light). i will try to post it with pic. stay tune
