  1. Yeah haha, cycling there tell me abt it. Where do u live? i cycle there from bedok, man... if not for the packs of ice in my backpac, go home can have seafood dinner liao.

Its called a purple reef lobster i believe..

Ironically not a good idea if yur intending to set it free in a reef setting.

Better for a fish only system. :)

  2. Hey bro loster,

Yeah cycle completed. Had Moved all the fishes and corals to the tank.

Seems like things kept going wrong... Sorry bro the prata didnt survive the move from my 2feet to the holding tank. Was doin and feeding fine till i moved it then it simply refused to feed then started to contract tightly but the rest of my pratas and LPS are doing fine. Dont understand too. So Sorry to disappoint u bro..

My Powder black and boxfish also died. Bad case of itch. Both fishes did well for abt 3 weeks in my isolation tank and recovered at first from an initial bout of itch.

After introducing it to my main tank last weekend, kanna again, then recovered Last few days got it again BIG TIME. Yesterday was still feeding, this morning discovered their lifeless bodies on the sand bed...

Its never abt money but the amount of effort and attachment and also questions my reef keeping skill.

Still couldnt accept that suddenly everything decide to go over such a short period of time.

Water parameters still as the last time i checked.

YT PT and the 2 clownfishes are also having spots but still behaving normally and feeding well.

Seemed like its gonna be a gloomy sunday for me.

The dark skies and the sound of thunder seems to make it worst.

My biggest case of disappointment yet.

Just hope that the rest of the fishes recovers.

  3. Maybe after they started to eat, you can gradually introduce the pellets/brinr shrimps soaked in garlic to encourage them to eat them too. After no more red bamboo to eat sure got to eat the pellets loh. My purple tang satred eating only the nori I gave it but after a few days it got to eat the pelllets too

    From my experience...

My tangs did the "monkey see, monkey do" method. When they see other fishes eat, being closet pigs chances are, they will try out as well.

After making sure they are feeding well on the food i want them to eat, i only offer seaweeds one feeding or once every two days if i can remember. :P

And Garlic helps tons! In keeping itch at bay and getting them to eat.

  4. hmmz.. ok, back to the thought about red bamboo algae..

so, what do i do even if they start eating the red bamboo? do i spray brine shrimp and mysis into the red bamboo?

also.. does red bamboo work on angels? e.g. emperor (juv), regal, majestic..

No need to spray anything on the algae la. The fishes will recognise it as food naturally.

Might work for angels too... dunno havent tried. :P

  5. Mine also

Ever since I removed that sarcophyton which hosted my clowns, they moved to the tubeworm instead <_<

HAHA! Glad to hear that its "normal". Was thinkin that they could be confuse of something like that.

Been kinda quiet. Checked my parameters.

    NO3 > 10

PH > 8.3 (Any idea how to raise it to 8.4?)

    Temp > 27

These are abt the parameters i check. Weekly 20L water changes. (One big red pail.) Till my parameters stablise more...

Powder black tang recovering from itch. Now left a few spots on the pectoral fins, Hope they clear up soon... ;)

Having the idea of getting firegobies and royal gramma/blackcap (Depends on which one i come across first...) Any idea if they would be good buds?

Thinking of a "blue" fish too...

    Blue devil... out

Powder blue tang... With my powder black? Hmm WW3? :nuke:

Blue tang... somehow dont like them...

    No idea liao. :nc:

BTW have a pair of cleaners to let. See anyone interested can pm me. :D

WIll do an update of pictures this weekend. Now working late <_<

Lights out by the time i come home... :cry2:

  6. hummm,I am pretty sure its made by Jebo.

I have another question. Is it better to aim for a bigger chiller?or smaller? My tank is 80g with 2x150 mh .and its very very hot in here.Litterly, its around 45 degree. So I was thinking should I aim for a bigger chiller.

Havent really heard of a chiller by jebo...

But i suggest getting a more powerful (Bigger la..) chiller now, just... in case u planned to upgrade yur tank in the near future.

And trust me u dont want anything thats underpower, u'll jump when u get the monthly pub bill... Not to mention jumping up and down when yur room gets sauna hot since it'll prob be on the whole day. :P

  7. Just went to Coral farm and back.

Got myself a BEAUTIFUL colony of Zoos at an incredible price!

WIll take pic later coz not open after the FW bath...

One small white urchin. Into my tank MIA liao. Hidding in teh rocks i believe.

Got myself 3 big fan worms too... almost the size of my open plam, Cant resist.

And the biggest of the lot.

  8. Left view. What u see when u step into my house... erm.. excuse the background yeah? :P

Alot of open sand bed... thats what i like.

the tank now is lit by my 2x 2ft T5. QUite bright... imagine the amount of money i'll save if i were to go fish only...

Reason for not having the MH up yet is coz i havent hook up the chiller. Havent found a pump yet... <_<
