The hermit/crab in yur tank must have developed a rather exquisite taste... I Read that the mushy family are naturally distasteful to predators... They have a type of toxin in their tissue, which they release when they are damaged. This can be seen as slime when u do fragging of the mushies or yumas. Then again... i might be wrong. My 1/2cent worth.

Hey Bros and Sis, Came across this type of sump sysytem a couple of times, But only seen it in detail at iwarna. The sump is made up of nothing more then protein skimmer and lots of living rocks. The water quality in their display tank looks superb!!! Thinkin of setting one up as dont think my mom would like me to hav an extra hood of lights for my refugium.... But.... Have a couple of questions: - How does it work? Algae... i can understand, but LR with no lighting?? - How effective is it? - Do i need to do the same cycling with it?

Hey guys, i understand some of u have a DIY overflow box. WOuld be great if u all can teach me how to make one. A picture and explaination is good, but an offer would be great!! HAHA! Gonna change to a sump, so will need an overflow box for my current tank. Gonna DIY a sump too, with an old 2feet and some glass.

For me i juz buy two small ones about 1" in length, Then after some time one will grow larger then the other. The larger one is usually the female lah... (wonder why.... mother nature HAS a twisted sense of humor) And its a good idea to hav only one anemone in yur tank to increase the chance of successful pairing and possible breeding. Anyway, thats my experience. Now my pair is defending the anemone as its territory, chasing away any fish that comes close and inpecting anything that is placed too close, that includes new corals, small rocks and even tried to bit my hand when i hand feed my anemone!!!

Yeah... they are pretty hardy. My tank only has a fan, 3T5s and one blue tube and almost a whole tank full of mushies. Surviving well... I even bought one thats badly injured (Cheap mah... 2Bucks but really big abt 4" and bright green ) After about 1 week had recovered and now opening very well. Maybe u 'sway got those thats infected...

Haiz... But anyway, in the future if i have a 6ft tank (Which i hope is acouple of years time...) I'm gonna try my luck. Who knows!

My "grapes" juz turn spikey, Then one morning mins after i turn on the lights, release this huge greenish smoke screen into the water. (WHich i believe is spores... , i Think...) Clouded my water for a few hours then cleared off by the skimmer, water parameters remains the same.... but the aglae juz turn into mush after 2 days... and now the rocks.. botak liao..

Hey guys/gals, I'm looking for a 2ft X 1ft X1ft (or smaller) tank to convert into a sump for my 2 feet display tank. And i need some advice for the return pump and over flow box too... (Impossible now to get my presenttank drilled... and Ibox too expensive.) Thanks in advance!
