clowntrigger replied to clowntrigger's topic in Members Tank & Specs
yep it is, Sealife ask me to put it in, and after 6 months, disconnect the powerhead from the UGF, Will try it and see how well it goes. In their main display tank, this is how it is being done. -

well I would not call my modified berlin and I do not have a name to it. I will be using Live rocks and whatever you see there, the theory is when it is working, dont change it. As for the carrying of the live rock, yep, life is tough in bring those rock back to the house. I think the most painful part is to put the rock and arrange them in the tank. Image a 2.5ft deep tank like mine, at the end of the day, just imagine how aching your waist is, taking into account I am not longer young -
pardon me guys, but what are aiptasia, a pictures will really help

Hi Loonz Yah you are right, but I have only realise it today that you are selling those rock away. If you do have some left, I wouldn't mind taking it since I will need another 30+ kg. Hi Bawater I got my tank from Sealife, the dimension is as follow 4x2x2.5 and it cost $1600 including the sump. As I mentioned in the previous thread, this is a special price that I get from Sam since I have already asking from him like 3-4 years back and he is now fulfilling his promise, thus I would not know how much he will charge you. One thing I could say is the workmanship and build is good. Clowntrigger -

Hi guys Just like to share with you on the progress of my first reef tank and welcome pointers from the expert. Went to sealife last saturaday to purchase 31KG of live rocks and what you see in the tank now is 21KG of live rocks. Man, this is really expensive, imagine 21kg of rock is only a bit when place into the tank. The other 10kg is still at sealife. Heard that the live rock price has shot to $20/kg, don't how true, but got my at $6/kg. I heard this was in the newspaper last week that someone got caught from importing live rocks, did not verify it as I was ot of town. Comments please on the setup Clowntrigger

Hi there can someone shed some light on why certain skimmer, those power by power head one, need to have a steady water level in the sump before they can work well? These skimmer are in-sump ones, just don't understand. Any physician can help me understand? Thanks. Clowntrigger

New denitrator at Sealife
clowntrigger replied to clowntrigger's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Hi AT What size is your skimmer that cost only $500+? Did you get yours at sealife? The cheapest I see is the $600 or $650, unless you did a trade in on it? clowntrigger -
I am not sure whether is it 6mm or not, but I have fate in what Sealife does for me. Like I say, the finishing is the best I have seen. I was very tempted to get a new system from Pac marine when he quote me $1400 with 12mm glass, come to think of it..... ......... I shall not say anymore. Well as for the life stock, I am new to coral as what this tank will house, thus I do not know what will the outcome be like, just need to pray hard... Most likely the tank will be up by end of December as I see that everyone here say that you should add live rock a bit at a time every other week. To house 60kg of rocks, that will take ......... well a good tank will also take time, like what everyone is saying, patience is the key to success to reef keeping...... clowntrigger

bawater the tank with sump and cabinet cost me $1600 but like I say since I have been talking about it like 3 or 4 years back, this is a special price for me. He really keep his promise. Please do not go up to him and say how come he quote me $1600 As for buying a second hand tank, I would really consider it espically the cabinet. You need to be really sure it is sturdy and also need to know the age of the whole setup. Buying the skimmer and light secind hand is ok, but not the tank and the cabinet, this is what I think. clowntrigger

Yep this is a new tank, has been running 1 month with nothing inside, waiting for it to cycle . Well I have been asking this tank from Sealife like 3 or 4 year back, price and bla bla bla..... etc. I has been his customer for the past 10 year or so. Thus what he quoted to me is a special price, so I do not know whether you guys will get it or not. Anyway it is $1600 with all 12mm glass. Trust me, when I compare the workmanship of the cabinet with elsewhere, his really stand out. I was told everything is made local, not sure how true. Also the slump is somehow special as compare to what others has to offer. I truly believe customer satisfaction after being to the few local SW LFS and buying things fromthem and getting support form them, I do not mind paying some extra bucks to get those good total customer experience, trust me, I been through it. clowntrigger

Hi Guys Want to give you some head up on a new piece of equipment by H&S. Last Friday, went to Sealife saw this new equipment, ask Sam and he say this equipment are supposed to bring down NO3. This is the first kind in the market, it uses sulphur and some other chemical to get ride of NO3, not the same principle as a denitrator. The only side effect is that the water will turn a bit yellowish and you need to put in active carbon t remove the tint. I did not ask for the price, but from the look of it, it does look ex. Anyone one should trust H&S, if you have used their skimmer, you know what I mean. Anyone dare to try the new equipment? clowntrigger
