alvy, I don't have friends in HK to provide me the information.I did a yellowpages search in the net and see that most of the hardware pump shop are located at Canton road, which is a few street away from the fish street. Maybe this is where it is. The shop that I find on the net did sell little giant pump. Here is the url http://yp.ypdomain.com/sheklee-metal/index_e.html http://yp.ypdomain.com/boom/index_e.html you can take your chances there, if not just ask the fish shop owner.

Hey guys I have a rock with about 10+ hairy mushroom. Yesterday I found that one of them is like dying, the mouth has sink in, not protruding like the rest, crumble up. No sign of flesh tear or anything, but just the above symptoms. Just in case it is dying soon, how can I remove that single stalk of mushroom? Any advised from here? Can I remove the whole rock and then use a sharp pen knife, slowly slice on the bottom of the mushroom to remove it? Any advised and detail steps will be appreciated, thanks.

Seahouse, my advise is to get a 12mm glass tank, with overflow and a sump. You can't put too much stuff in the IOS, that is my opinion.

Pacificbetta, their service is good, just in case you have not order from them before. I have order twice from them, but all the while have the goods ship to a US address. How much did they charge you for the shipping of the light hood?
-
no, but I was told the hardware shop is very near to the fish street. These hardware shop specialised in all kind of pumps, so if you have any friends in HK, you could ask them. This is what I gather so far.

ryan, if I am not wrong, those brown stuff on the surface of the substrate are diatom, if your tank is still in cycling stage, it should disappear once your cycling is done. This has been seen on my tank which is about 2+ month old.

well, I think some of you would not bother to spend that kind of money here, so I will post some of the pictures that I took over the weekend when I was there. Pay like $22 for 9 attraction, well worth the money... Some of the fish found in the touch pool area.

Hey guys, just to add, been there like couple of time, well the live stock is cheap. Bought 5 fire goby at S$2 a piece, put them in my check in luggage and they arrive safety back in Singapore. I was told the iwaki pump there was real cheap, but these have to be gotten at some hardware shop and not the fish shop. For direction wise, just walk on the famous lady street(Niu Ren Jie), walk till you come to a end, cross over to the opposite side of the road, continue on on the same road, and you will see the 2 rows of fish shop. If you were to follow the sign of Tung Choi Street after you exist the MTR, you might get lost, the street name is very confused espically your firs time there, just my 2 cent worth....

Phang, very impressive on your rock rack........ From the way I see it, you will be able to save lots of KG of rock and money Keep the posting of your new tank in the coming weeks, espically when the rock work is up.

Phang, remember to post the pictures of your new tank, before and after you put in the stuff.... look like you will have a very busy weekend and also backache weekend

eAquaNature Pre-Christmas Sales
clowntrigger replied to LiveRock's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
I did know the boss quite well, get a lot of the stuff from him. I think if you just walk in, you will get something like $160-$170, you need to bargain with him of course. The shop I went to is at Bukit Merah View, look for William, he is the boss, he will give you a good price. -

I don't think it is really cheap, I have bought a 2217 at Soon Heng for $150, thus the sale is not really sale... my 2 cents Well have no idea whether the rest is a discount or not, maybe the rest can chip in. -

How to maintain salinity in 2fter?
clowntrigger replied to hongqixian's topic in General Reefkeeping_
qixian, maybe you could do what I did, put a small power with digital timer and use it as auto top up. You would roughly know how much evaporation your tank will have each day, with that you can tune the output of the powerhead with the help of a valve. Of course you could activate the top up few times a day, so as not to dump the freshwater all at one go. So far so good for my one, has been working since I installed it like 2 months ago. Just a thought... -
Liverock, thanks, I have gotten 2 of the actinic PL light and it say true blue, just want to be sure.
-
Hawkfish, very nice, what do you used for filtration? How long is the tank being establish? Do you run a skimmer? Is it possible to show the area in the sump? Thanks.
-
liverock, maybe I am not clear in asking, on the white portion of the tube, what is written there other the Transworld? I want to know what is stated there to show that it is a actinic blue, thanks.
-
Liverock, what is printed on the PL for the actinic blue that you have which is from Transworld brand?

The last time round I get from them is $6/KG, but last week when I was there, they have new rock and they are charging $8/KG. Heard someone post on the forum that elsewhere is selling for $12/KG, duno how true is that. Yeah, I knew the owner quite well
-
nope, he dedicate a bottom large blue tub for me to put the rocks in and also he will push all the rock way into the back of the tub, making it difficult for people to reach it. Well some people will have a way of getting to it, that is why when yu collect the rock, re-weight again. This was done at Sealife, I do not know if other LFS will do that or not.
-
spade, I am very satisfied with the make of my cabinet for my4x2x2.5(H). I got mine from Sealife, maybe you can ask them how much they charge you. If you look at my post in the reef section, it does show the construction of my tank. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forums/index.php...9dac7b48e31bdb4
