Hmm,seems like your friend's bubble has bleach... The brown stringy substances are expelled zooxantelle(sorri for the spelling).. Corals either produce these substances when they have too much of these or when the have not enough lights Anyway,you posted this question in the wrong forum Cheers

How many skunks shrimps do you have in your tank. I currently only has one and it eats market prawns that i offer but it usually only stays on the underside of a rock. So what i suspect is that they feel safer when there are partners around,but i have also heard that these shrimps will often kill newly added ones.

Skip the coral chips and bio balls.. Build a refugium instead and add in chemical filtration.

i am currently keeping one but sadly it got HLLE.. IMO,very easy to keep as long as you feed it well.
