I added an air intake valve to the air inlet of my prism skimmer too and it's working better able to control the water flow plus the air flow. Took the idea from tis thread. Any copyrights?

Just collected from him today. Nice guy, and trustworthy, sent the skimmer all the way to my house. Skimmer in good working condition. Just have to fine tune the flow valve a bit for prism skimmer. Cheers Kevin

Found out the realreason behind the ph drop in my tank. The processed sea water that I bought from the LFS near my place only had a ph of 7.5 (I tested it to make sure it's ard 8.1-8.3 but instead it shows only 7.5) The previous 20% water change causes the ph in my tank to drop since it's only a 2ft tank.

Thanks all.

I am thinking of getting the Eheim Pro II for my 2ft tank, wondering will it be too powerful for my 2ft? Due to space constrain sump is almost out of the question or it will cost alot due to the type of customisation needed. (after talking to Ian) I'm only intend to keep LPS. Any advise very much appreciated. Cheers. Kevin

Ok. Have to put aside money for that then after I get the AquaC Remora skimmer.

Today. Was shocked with the ph value so calibrated the ph pen and tested it again.
-
Ouch spend $75 on that ph pen. What would you recommend to be more accurate?
-
Ah okie thanks. Got a better understanding now.

Might be lack of aeration but I have a 1212/hr pumphead circulating flow and another 800/hr pumphead for filteration. Shouldn't it help with aeration? As for the kalkwasser, I thought we should use that to maintain the ph after getting it to the right level. Please correct me if I'm wrong and pardon for the questions. Am still quite new and trying to learn more. Thanks. Kevin

Not sure yet it just happened today. The seachem was introduced to me when I went down to Bio-Ocean Aquarix earlier. I will take the PH again later. (am using trans equipment electronic ph tester and calibrated it today after noticing the drastic drop, thought my tester screwed up. but after calibration it's still the same.)

No I didnt dose too much of it. Read somewhere in this forum it's no good to increase the ph by too much a day. I will try to get the ph back to 8.3 slowly within a few days. Thanks for the advise. But am still wondering why the sudden drop in ph. There were no LS added just a maroon clown removed yesterday.
-
My 2FT tank ph suddenly drops to 7.1 I still wondering why. Anyway just used seachem ph 8.3 buffer (cant really remember the actual name) will increase the ph and maintain it at 8.3

Can i have more than 1 algae blenny and are they reef safe? Thanks -
My bubbletip anemone is hosting my maroon crown now, but it seems that on one side of the crown near the fin there's a whitish stuff like cobwebs stuck on its body, is it normal? I read from somewhere is just the slimy stuffs from the crown fish to protect it from the sting of the anemone not sure how true it is. Hopefully it's not the white slime disease that will covered up the whole body of the fish cos then would have to remove it cos they spread fast. Anyone have any knowledge about it? Thanks

How much invertebrates can a 2FT tank holds?
Kaf replied to Kaf's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Mine is a Dymax T5, actually there's alot of debates about whether it's really T5 due to the voltage but I think it's sufficient for my 2FT. Do a search on the forum for T5 there's a few other brands. I got mine for $40 and ya they have 3FT. The blue is not actual acntinic blue though, if I'm not wrong it's zoomed. I'm still quite new to all this myself actually. I'll PM you the LFS details but it's your call where you want to get it. Cheers -
How much invertebrates can a 2FT tank holds?
Kaf replied to Kaf's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Ya I found out that's a cauliflower, from my obeservation it prefer moderate to high current, needs light, produce and had to be spray with saltwater to get rid of the mucus they excrete during transportion before introducing to the tank. It will bloom very nicely at times and at times it just look sloppy. Now my anemone moved itself just beside the cauliflower, wondering will it be alright for them to be so near since the cauliflower is consider an aggresssive type. Anyone with experience on them? -
Ok this is the latest pic after the anemone moved to it's new location almost beside to the cauliflower. Thanks to everyone who tried to help and advised.
-
Ya my anemone is about 3 times the size of my crown. Here's a pic taken from the top view while the anemone is moving so it's not really the exact size. I been observing it the whole nite, it seems to be ok now. Will keep on observing it for a bit more.

Sorry another question. Will tis light do for my 2ft tank with invertabrates? Pic of the light and specs. -
Am wondering how much invertebrates can a 2 FT tank hold? Will bio-overload happen easily, even if I have only about 4 fishes? Currently my my 2Ft tank house a maroon crown and 3 yellow belly damsel, 12Kg of LR, an anemone and a flower like soft bright orange coral that I need help IDing. Here is the pic of the coral but it's not very clear. Took it with my HP.
