interesting diy skimmer air stone skimmer need to change the wooder block regularly plus empty the skimmer cup. since ur tank is small a 20-30% water change i think is much easier and fastest IMO hehe.

yes they sell the skimmer alone but i dun think can fit inside the IOS of iq5,i'm running a 1feet cube diy ios without skimmer.i think for our small tank waterchange of 20% is faster then cleaning the skimmer cup haha,plus the skimmer pump also add heat .

just when to check mine my total electricity usage per month is around 850kWh. 4rm flat with 3 person plus 1 dog and a 2 ft reef tank using MH and T5 and a 1feet cube using LED ... always on aircon as my tank is in my room so chiller seldom kick in.
