  1. Hi Reefers, Got a paired Percula on Fri. Yesterday both are fine and feeding. In the late evening notice one of them showing some abnormal sign - its pictorial fin is not open. This morning woke up and saw the two percula swam near the water surface. Some white patch developed on their body too. Not feeding anymore I know they are sick. But have no idea what illness is this and how should I treat them? Besides the clown, all other LS are doing fine and feeding happily. Syndromes:Stay near water surface, labor breathing, shake body virgorously sometime, white patches, not feeding What I have done so far: 20% water change Added carbon in the sump My Tank Spec: Main Tank:2'x1.5'x1' Sump: 2'x1'x1' Tank age: 3 months Total water volume: 100 litres SG. 1.024 NO3: ~ 30 ppm NH4,NO2: Didn't check LS: 1 red scooter blenny 1 fire fish 4 ###### shrimps 1 blood shrimp 1 Sally Light Food Corals: 3 Buttons 1 Leather 2 brains 1 bubble 2 sun corals 1 hammer Few yumas This is how they looks like yesterday evening.
  2. C328's name is Clementi Flourist & ?? Beside a famous Claypot Chicken Rice stall... it's just 5 mins on foot from the MRT station.
  3. that's a good point. Anyway I do think i-box is a good piece of equipment especially for those whose tanks are not pre-drilled... this is probably the best option if they do not want to risk their tanks as it might crack later... Ian don't flame me hor.. I have no hidden agenda here.. Bro LS.. hey how's tokyo (many earthquake hor ).. been to Roppongi Hill already? I like O-daiba's Toyota Forum.. can have a feel of many toyota cars. Shinjuku's Yodobashi Camera has lots of electronic goods on display to play around with Akihabara is the place i visited few times for electronic goods too. Have a pleasant stay there
  4. If you haven't got your tank, then it's wise to get one that has internal overflow compartment. I-box is meant for thoose whose tanks are not pre-drilled. With internal overflow box, you do not have to worry about tank overflow due to siphon break which might occred in external overflow system like I-box. Further, internal overflow box with dursor pipe give u very high flow rate compared to external one, which can prevent main tank overflow if Mr. Murphy happened to knock your door. If you want cheap one, then DIY one external overflow pipe yourself (search DIY forum)
  5. wah sis.. going to state ah.. cool... can bring back many many corals huh .. setting up a new speciment tank when coming back? (Ric Fl***da only Reef Tank , much more variety than Henry's one ) Upz for your advance sales
  6. wa lao... soooOOOO cheap ... how I wish I can have it... too bad no space at home... Anyway upzzzz for u bro!
  7. yes it looks still quite stressed... but better than the day before when it was still in the main tank. This fellow probably have a big mouth IMO, coz when i brought it home last week, its mouth also open big big till i thought there's something wrong with it.. just hope it's normal I am using Canon G3, but frankly it's not the camera but the one behind it that matter.... else those pro are jobless liao lor... LOL The 2nd picture is not a macro shot though... just crop it from the first one.. anyway ichy hand now, gonna try out my macro lense someday... U r bro-in-law of reeflobang huh? I know him... he gave me many advises when I first started..
  8. just oyama paper alone.. its addhersive is sufficient to adhere it to the overflow box. Of course let it dry for a day or two before putting it into the tank water.. so far no sign of peeling off ...
  9. I have a similar orange one too... Got it from a reefer recently, gig big polyp.. Post it tomorrow...
  10. Closed up of its mouth... can you spot the mysis?
  11. Some update on the injured brain. No more slime on its wound already. I think it's getting better today, at least much better than the day earlier. Fed it with mysis shrimp yesterday. About 4-5 shirmps.. this guy really has big stomach (and big mouth) !! Some feeding photos..
  12. Hee hee will do I think the yuma and shroom can survive lar.. I tried with frogspawn and brain before (~6 hours bus ride, well insulated, and put a bottle of ice in the same container to prevent excessive temp. rise) and they both still doing well the moment they were consficated by the immigration at woodlands
  13. Just called, Reborn got new corals shipment tomorrow at 6 pm. (though not all their LS are nice but some are okay lar.. at least my LS: 2 fire gobies, 1 blood shrimp still survive in my tank after more than a month.. knock wood)
  14. OMG.. so NICE!! I like zoos too.. but have only those normal one.. will start to search around for some really nice one liao... newbie here so have not much experience... May be should learn the proper way to frag zoos and get frags from you all here
  15. Yes I agree with u. Look at the way the wound left on the brain it's 99% sure that the yuma at the lower right corner did it... I am not as lucky as you coz I was at work when the whole incident took place.. guess the yuma stung it for hours Now the brain is left in the fug with moderate flow over it. This morning before going out for work I observed the brain and it's not recovering yet.. still got some white slime covering its wound and the skeleton is now visible... well at least it looks better than yesterday. Just hope that it will recover and else I will have my 2nd casualties (just lost my hammer yesterday, the FW dip can't save it from the brown jelly infection , should have frag the infected part before the FW dip)
  16. Thanks sis flubberina. Will monitor the situation and take neccessary action. Thank god that there's just a little macro algae in my fug at moment (still new). So should be okay. Will turn on the FL 24 hours a day, think the light is sufficient if kept like that.
  17. Poor fellow now in the fug already.. will feed it well everyday.. hopefully it will recover soon (keeping my finger cross ). Will update the progress of this fellow from time to time.
  18. so no need the dip anything huh? I will remove the poor fellow and put it into the fug now... hopefully it will recover. btw sis should i dip it with Kent Marine Tech-D Bacterial Dip tomorrow? Thanks a lot sis
  19. thanks sis.. unfortunately i don't have any coral medication with me.. so what's the best possible solution for me now? I have 4 ###### shrimps, 1 firegoby, 1 scooter blenny.. Oops.. wait..... looks like the orange yuma (located on its lower right) is the probable culprit... i think it can reach it when fully expanded How should i help this poor fellow who is badly stunk by the yuma...?
  20. Just check Ammonia.. undetectable... doing 20% water change now (planned water change actually, salt mixed done yesterday) ...
  21. probably not.. as all other LS are doing fine... More info.. the tank has been set up for 2 months plus.. 100 litres with sump. Gone through proper cycling... never have any ammonia problem ever since I started stocking up the LS... only had problem few days back when the hammer was infected with brown jelly...
  22. Another picture. Will stand by here to seek advise before I do anything silly.. newbie who is almost losing his very first hammer, now brain All other invert (branching hammer, bubble, large brain, zoo, yuma) and fishes are fine... so ammonia spike should not be the culprit...
  23. Sorry moderator, I am not sure if this is the right forum to post but it seems to be more active than the "Disease treatment/parasite control" Help needed... One of my brain is melting away after I got back from work today. Moved it last night during rescaping, touched some of it's flesh (did I injured it?). Also it's placed about 14" below my 150W MH (it used to be in a more shaded area). Now there seems to be some slime covering its lower right rim. Can already see the skeleton. Some of its tantacles looks transparent ... I had "brown jelly" infection on one of my hammer (dipped in FW yesterday, not sure if it can pull it through, put in the refugium already). Did I injured the brain when touching it last night and the bacteria had found its way into the brain? What should I do? Can fresh water dip kill the protozoa (did I spell it correctly?)? I have no lugos... only have Kent Marine Iodine, would this perform similar function as Lugos? If so is Lugos dip better than Fresh Water dip? What is the iodine concentratoin should i go about it? Attached image here... Now thinking of FW dip for 1 min then put it into fug. with moderate flow... pleasssss help..... p/s: the other brain is doing fine.
  24. Infor I posted on page 1: With respect to AVA regulation, one can only bring in (as for individual used) Fishes (non-endagered) - 30 fishes in not more that 3 litres of packing water Marine Invert and softies - 5 kg total weight Hard/CITES corals - 5 pieces, CITES permit required So bro do post the LFS add later. Next time I go back to KL will go there and buy ric - yuma & florida ... will bargain and tell the owner that it's cheaper in Singapore .. or else sooner or later the price in KL will also sky rocket
