Bump!!!

I use it personally and i loved it as I no longer need to worry about my parameters too much. With a weekly 10% water change, i am able to keep my pH (>8.0) and dKH (>10) which makes my corals more than happy. The other parameters like Mag etc has been fine as well. It is really a lazy man salt as now i no longer measure my parameters too often as well as stop dKH doser as well.

I wouldnt be too worried unless there are spots on it. Usually I will ask LFS to show me they are eating pellets before purchasing a particular fish so cant comment much on how to train them to eat pellets but i think once they are hungry, they will start eating and be a havit

Blue tangs are know to act dead on sand floor whenever it is scared or new environment. Just monitor and ensure got proper hiding spot. Do not jump into conclusions

How did you cycle? Did you raise you ammonia to 2ppm to kick start the cycle with good bacteria? 3 days seems rather quick
-
I do not own a 4ft tank but looking to own one...from my research, a few things: 1. Chiller - it is going to be noisy & big and some reefers straight out recommend a 1HP aircond 2. Lights - going to be expensive to light up a 4ft tank 3. Water changes - even if you are looking to change 10% of the water - you can imagine changing 50L water.. The rest I think its going to be similar but you will have more buffer for things to go wrong. The 3 points above alone are giving me second thoughts. Point 1 & 2 is really resolvable (to a far extent) if the tank is in a room where aircond is running 24/7 or during the day time however CFO might not be happy with a noisy compressor if it is located in the living room etc...

Good luck! Highly annoying to deal with

80!!!!

Bro - as per your other thread, you need to be patient. I used Tropic Marin for cycling and it worked fine. Your Ammonia is too high - you are supposed to just raise it to 2ppm, not 8ppm. What you can do is to do a water change but the whole cycling takes up to a month. Be patient
-
2ppm is what you should be aiming for. What bacteria are you using? As nkxyy indicated, it takes a while..all my cycling takes up to a month. You just have to be patient. Chances are you will also notice high nitrate levels as well and you might want to do a water change or multiple of them.
-
Low PH levels during cycle stage is normal
-
Have never faced this before. Colored water usually indicated some growth in the water which the salt should not be the cause. I guess you can test the parameters and see if carbon removes the tint but I would proceed with caution.
-
Yea not sure if you can do anything about the chiller. From what i was told, Teco or Arctica is already pretty good and quiet ones
-
Bro…i dont believe you can get live rocks these days You just have to be patient - like everything else in this hobby. I cycled two tanks and it took a month for both times. There are a lot of information around but basically, raise you ammonia to 2.0 ppm, add good bacteria and wait until it drops to zero. You need to also get bio-balls for your bacteria to live & sustain as well and check your nitrate levels as it should go up after week 3. There are turbo starts alternatives, personally I have never used them and I think they are quite hard to find. Patience is very important in this hobby

80 now!

For Arctica - aquanautic is what most reefers would engage. Not sure if they service teco
