I see Iwarna gets shipments from Bali Aquarich and some other breeders too. Does anyone own a captive bred angelfish from them? If so how has it done for you, and are they easier to keep than the wild ones? I see they have offered a Goldflake x Griffis hybrid before. Especially curious about whether that hybrid is naturally occurring and what an adult specimen looks like. Very disappointed to find out their Goldflakes are actually Goldflake x Flagfin hybrids which I don’t think are naturally occurring. Thanks. Furthermore, are hybrids mostly sterile and incapable of reproduction?

Not the wacky designer Clowns, my eyes hurt when I see them, but just normal captive bred Clownfish of different species. Also would like to know if any places carry captive bred angels from places like Bali Aquarich, Poma Labs (US based), Biota (US and Palau based) and ORA (US based). Thanks. The twist is, will any of them be willing and able to ship to Guangzhou, China?

Hi all, I’d like to know if any of you have kept the Monocle Breams, Squirrelfish and also the Harlequin / Tobacco Basslets. If so, how have they done for you / how long have you had them? Are they hardy and do they eat everything? Do they eat smaller fish? The species I might keep one day are: Squirrelfish- Crown Squirrelfish (S. Diadema) Breams- Whip Tail Monocle Bream (P. Emeryii) Two-Lined Monocle Bream (S. Billineata) Basses- Harlequin Bass (S. Tigrinus) Tobacco Bass (S. Tabaricus) Do all of these get very big? Are they super active too?

[DISCUSSION] AUSTRALIA STRIPEYE (Microcanthus strigatus)
Bao3niang replied to a topic in General Reefkeeping_
They’re okay but IMO I’m more into conventionally attractive or unique fish. -
It seems as though he no longer posts here but I’d love to get in touch with him and ask him a couple questions about Butterflyfish. If anyone has his contact info would appreciate it. Thanks.

Is it C. Flavissumus or C. Heraldi? Are these two often collected using questionable methods? -

Thinking of: 1. Rusty 2. Coral Beauty 3. Flameback 4. Eibli 5. Half Black -
Hi all would like to know what are the hardiest dwarf angels, ones that are consistently hardy and not too prone to disease and can be kept by a newbie. Thanks. Also looking into a pair of Genicanthus Melanospilos AKA Japanese Swallowtails or Spotbreast, maybe Watanabei too.

Are you downsizing, moving the tank?

There’s more than one variation of this color pattern, they’re Chromis and not the same species. There’s a Chocolate Dip Chromis, Half and Half Chromis, and others. Forgot the scientific names. And there’s also a Hawaiian variety with this kind of color pattern.

I’m looking at a couple potential tank sizes with minimal differences (L x W x H): 165cm x 63cm x 48cm (131.81G) 166cm x 63cm x 48cm (132.61G) 165cm x 65cm x 47cm (133.15G) 165cm x 62cm x 49cm (132.42G) 166cm x 62cm x 49cm (133.22G) as you can see these are custom dimensions. -
Does anyone have experience with the Genicanthus angels?
Bao3niang replied to Bao3niang's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Haha like the way you put it but I’m going for a 6ft or 5.5ft tank, if not 6ft then about 5.5ft. So far my apartment has no restrictions on fish tanks. And yeah I agree if it can’t even support a standard 120 (4 x 2 x2) I should seriously consider moving lol. -

Thanks. Do you live in an apartment? If so which floor do you live on? Considering the living situation in Singapore how common are tanks 6ft and more? Especially 2nd floor or higher. -

As far as I know my LFS does not treat with copper unless really necessary, and as far as I know don’t run lower salinity. Are most Clownfish in SG Captive Bred? Curious because I am actually in China. -

Hey there thanks for replying. Unfortunately I currently don’t have room for a QT system. In that case would they be a fish you’d avoid for a beginner? -

Hi -
I heard they’re about as close to reef safe as it gets. Have any of you kept them? If so, I would like to know: which species are you keeping / did you keep? Are they still alive? How hardy are they? Beginner friendly? Do they get disease easily? are they slow growers? and if I get 2 or more than 2 females will 1 change to a male easily? thanks guys
-
People who have kept any angels of the genus Genicanthus, please share your experiences with them. Are they hardy and resistant to disease? If I put in 2 females what are the chances 1 will eventually change to a male? If not / during the process, will 2 females usually co-exist peacefully if they are the same species? What about different species? thanks.
