  3. bro... how much is ya tank set...?
  4. mine is sandwiched btw my hammer, torch and octo... seems to be opening fine
  5. i think such hawk behaviour varies from fish to fish n of cos it depends on their indi sizes... In my reef tank...i have a pair of flame hawks...have yet to witness them eating my shrimps...though my banded did loose one of its claws once...then again...not too sure if the hawks did it. While in my other tank i have a LNH...mine thats a ripper man! It steals live FW shrimps from my lion...and grips the shrimp tightly within its small mouth...n shake/ tear/ swallow it. If u ask me if its nice 2 watch? well...i guess its an accquired taste.
  6. Snails shit alot...i think in a small tank this may be way visible
  7. Looks like a jewel blenny to me... I used to have one...loves eating all my algae...my Blue tang used to chase it round...so when in fright...it will shit ou algae...and my blue tang will eat it
  8. During cold wet nights...best is to close most/all windows to prevent insects from entering ya home...as they r attracted to the lights of ya tank
  9. Wedgee...3-4hrs for inverts? For most shrimps the max time I accl is 30mins. Snails...I juz throw them in.
  10. Glad ya new tank turned out fine
  11. U bought the chevron or someone gave it to u? Cos i think the price will be a good indicator for its species
  12. U should use damsels instead. They r a pretty hardy lot. To cycle, u can start wif a pair...after cycle, wat i did was to introduce new fishes on a weekly basis. Eg. 1 per week. I am sure others pratice diff methods/ time periods.
  13. I think quite a number of us here have kept them b4 (varies in species). I've kept the purple/pink ones, grey/ yellow, spanish dancer b4...but sad to say none lasted for more than 6mths. Am not gg to try again.
  14. I dun think the seachem stick on is very accurate u koe? Best if u can use test kits...seachem has one...i think its costs 20-25$
  15. Sounds interesting though I wun dare to try
  16. Hi TH... DIff p-ple have diff opinions/ ideas etc... Some like the nano concept...if u have $$ to spare n only wanna try out...then maybe u can have a nano/ small tank concept. But believe me...once u get hooked on...u sure wanna upgrade ya tank size..cos the ocean has so many interesting stuff to offer....& by upgrading ya tank would prob means wasting $ on ya first set-up (lights, tank etc)...[though some p-ple manageto find buyers/ recycle their stuff] However, should u decide on a small tank...pls becareful wif wat u r buying...due to the limited size of the tank. Personally i think that a 2feet tank will be a more reasonable try for a beginner. Hope this helps!
  17. I think Pat's anemones quite okie wanz
