  1. Harlequin need to be paired too...as they will fight wif each other if not compatible....but of cos they r not as fierce as the boxers. Starfish wise...one small starfish (choc-chip type) can last a pair for about 2 weeks or so....while the sandshifter type lasts about a mth or so.
  2. Now....I quarantine my new fishes for at least 2 weeks b4 it goes into the main tank...n b4 it gets into my main tank...i will fresh water dip it for a min or so.... I find UV works for a while...but the best is garlic juice man! Can swear by it...though it can be quite troublesome to prepare. Tks god nowadays my fishes hardly have any probs....
  3. Reborn to some....is okie lar...juz that i dun have much luck wif his Live stock... His LR no good? I bought some from him last time...which I tot was okie...one my LR came wif a free octopus some more.... Not that I wanted it....but it was hidden in one of the rocks... His price wise...i dun find it very attractive...okie only.
  4. Oops..sorrie...posted wrong pic size...to big.
  5. wow...BB...u have a mated pair? Cool...did not really dare to try pairing them off as their claws look so menacing.... Only have mated pairs of Harlequin shrimps. * my little solitary yellow boxer...
  6. Chevron Tang is pricer than AT...its rarer too.
  7. Tks Tanzy Yup...saw quite a few of ya tank pics...captured under various lighting From ya post...I tot u were in ya mid-30s...dun koe y also.
  8. wow...never knew spider crabs were that big!
  9. Interesting pics u've got there....kinda like some pics that u took...quite artistic.... Ps* Tanzy...juz out of curiousity...how old r u? (If its not too personal of a question)
  10. Hey AT... Where can I find DT's? R they avail in our LFS? Have yet to see them... tks
  11. I used to have a rather small tomato clown fish that really safe-guarded its host anemone.... Every time when I use my bare hands to feed the anemone it will rush out to peck me.... Guess wat? Its no longer in my main tank....
  12. The following also is another study done on the various brands of salt in the mkt. http://www.aquacraft.net/s9910.html Believe it or not...varies from person2person
  13. SO sian rite bawater? Nice fishes only available to other countries. Sometimes I really hope there r LFS willing to ship in certain species for us....and of cos at a reasonable price lah.... I spoke to someone b4 who claimed he could ship in a seadragon for $2.5K. Think such rare (& endangered) stuff r best left in the wild...
  14. I've used CoraLife (dun really like it...felt that corals did better using TM), Tropic Marin (not too bad but decided to hop to BioSal...Alice's reccomendation...)b4....and now...BioSal. BioSal is not too bad....fishes n corals seem to do well....could be because I used this brand after I upgraded my tank's size. * BioSal has a slight cloudy look when fresh SW is made. This lasts for like a couple of minutes only.
  15. Hi Derf... As long as ya LR r cured...u can add them to ya tank in batches. Always do that for myself without any problems. And by leaving them to cycle/ cure at the LFS...it most prob wun get rid of the crabbies...unless they die of starvation...I believe ya much wanted bristle worms will be alive n kickin'
  16. Yup...I agree wif Chanbi...dun really need to pay a premium for flame hawks...they r very hardy.... Though the first one i bought died for no apparent reason...n coincidentally..it was bought from reborn. I usually get mine for $45-$50 Loonz...u may wanna try Hong Leong...Pat brings them in quite often.
  17. Pacific Marine - 3.5 Sealife - ? Marine Life - 4 Ocean Planet - ? Reborn - 1 Coralfarm - ? Seletar T95 - 3 Kwang - ? Reef World - 4 halequin- ? keong seong(havelock)- 1
  18. Hi Bawater... Very beautiful specimen....I have seen it blue Australian cousin b4....on the internet. Sadly they r not sold in SG....prob quite ex if it ever gets imported in.
  19. Guys...IMO....reborn is one scary place to buy fishes... I hardly buy anything from there now.....as survival rate of Live stock there is really low for me. Sorrie to say this...his tanks conditions r one of the worst....ard. Sometimes his holding tanks r so dirty n chalky.
  20. Oh Common' Kelvin.... Cheer up...there is always the infamous Mother's Milk-bar...at Kings Cross
  21. Guys look properly.... Its a lioness-fish...and hmmm....dun we all koe that the female of the species is deadlier than the male....
  22. Loonz...I used the coral-life ones b4...long time ago. The corals were okie....under the bulb (did not really noticed a major diff in colouration) though the tank looks more 'cool' blue-ish white. I also noticed that the bulbs have a very short lifespan....If I dun recall wrongly...I think I changed it after 3 mths of usage. I got mine from AquaMart...I think u can ask them blatantly for a 10-15% discount.
