NKF's administration brought to public scrutiny

both sides do. it's openly stated by LKY in his memoirs that charitable organisations like NKF are strongly supported by the Govt to make people more compassionate and caring for others in society and to help bear the burden of taking care of the less fortunate. A noble ideal, but it clearly has gone wrong at NKF after all these years. Time for the Govt to look at whether some charities have begun to misuse public funds and to clamp down on them. Ministry of Finance recently announced upcoming new guidelines for charities to have more transparency, and of course, NKF promptly said it will not follow these as it has its own "rules and audits". And other assorted bullsh*t. -

no worries. they have hundreds of millions in reserves. more than enough to last their patients for several years. enough time for people to see whether Durai is fired and proper accountability is put into place, then the donations will flow back in. NKF is going to lose a lot of money due to this case... what they do with their reserves for the next few months will demonstrate once and for all where their priorities lie - with the kidney patients or their own pockets. -

true true... but if you really want to give for kidney patients, it can't be worse than giving to NKF rite? -

Internet banking can. Or call your bank. And don't let them give you crap about it having to be cancelled from NKF side. There is no such thing. -

the legal issue is not about mismanagement. it is about whether ST is guilty of defamation. I suspect it will be "fair comment". and obviously there is mismanagement - how do you justify $600k salary, 12 months bonus, first class air travel, gold taps, german toilet bowls etc? And the extensive attempts to hide it (lawsuits, etc) indicates that NKF clearly knows this behaviour is unbefitting of a charity and will cause a public outcry (which it has). My friends are all cancelling their GIRO contributions. You want to help kidney patients? Give your money to the Kidney Dialysis Foundation. http://www.kdf.org.sg -

Yes, he threatened to sue people and they had to make apologies and pay money as settlements. But, now, in open court, all their remarks have been shown to be TRUE! NKF should make a public apology to these people and return the money taken... then again probably went into making more gold taps so they might have to ripout a tap or two and give to these people. i've always been anti-NKF and people think I was just making noise over nothing. Well, now it's public. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...ndpost&p=367958 BTW write in and cancel your donation and CC your HR department/bank. If NKF doesn't stop the deductions, speak directly to your bank. They have to oblige you. Unfortunately the result of this, even if SPH loses, is that Mr Durai will probably retire with his riches and leave NKF to die a slow death. Someone should force him to repay all the PUBLIC MONEY he has pocketed over the years. -
yes anyone know what's up with these moths? one flew into my house two days ago, and i saw another when i was outdoors... suddenly got these giant moths coming...

yeah was there too. He landed near blue sector and I was in red sector so couldn't see him after he hit the ground... pray that he will recover to full mobility and bodily functions... a fall like that could result in paralysis... -
Macroalgae turned brown overnight!
XPeriment 626 replied to XPeriment 626's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Nitrates around 20ppm... the problem is I'm not sure that it has "gone bad"... some leaves turned brown that's all... will monitor and see. And yes, chaeto should be a lot more manageable... wonder why LFS don't bring it in if there is such a demand... -
bro... i cannot concentrate on your sales items cos every post got that signature pix... anyway upz for you!

congrats! looks like your uber-DSB will prove a lot of critics wrong

methinks 26-28 deg is a common setting for most people. Anything higher will be bad for your corals, anything lower in current Singapore temp will make your chiller work overtime. And a 2-deg range is the max advisable, major temp fluctuations are bad for corals.

ummm, i don't really want the macroalgae to flourish... it's there to reduce nitrates and phosphates, not to beautify the tank i just don't want it to crash either and pollute the tank... is the algae able to take 24/7 lighting or should i give it normal daylight hours only?
