Liverpool needs to find some billionaire so finance it so that it doesn't need to play good football, just buy everyone else's star players. Oops, Chelsea did that already. I guess with 400 million pounds spent in two years, a 3-2 extra-time win is the least you should be able to get

XPeriment 626 replied to shoelevy's topic in General Reefkeeping_

Lyon crushed their opponents 3-0. I always thought Arsenal made a mistake selling Wiltord to Lyon.

amazing, Liverpool is the only english club to have won in the champions league this round! but aiyah, they are still 16/1 to lift the trophy haha
-
hah, this is the first time i've heard anybody say it's "not fair" that a Chelsea player is unavailable for selection. I think it's "not fair" that a club can blow 300 million pounds on players in two years and still be allowed to compete in the same leagues as everyone else.

LR are good for berlin method of nitrate reduction, yes. But LR don't need to go into the sump, they are expensive enough, should use every piece for your display tank I agree with the reefers' earlier suggestions (and thanks mantis for clarifying my very confusing answer). My 4' sump has filter wool in the first compartment, pump to external skimmer in the second compartment (8" RM beckett cannot fit inside!), third compartment is a DSB and final compartment is all the return pumps for chiller/UV and normal return. By "clean" setup i meant no bioballs or coral chips. The filter wool is for larger particles and other assorted floating junk

Cheap??? Method of Reefing ...

jsut tried thaat methodd *hic* it workkzz! *hic* -
you should leave out the bioballs. water should flow down over the bioballs, not up from under the baffle. bioballs are not meant to be immersed fully in water, for that you should go with coral chips. but i don't recommend having either bioballs or coral chips. go "clean" and use a powerful skimmer, as the bioballs/coral chips will generate nitrates which are hard to remove from your tank (that's how they get rid of nitrites and ammonia, by converting to nitrates).

Marine Tank Competition...
XPeriment 626 replied to marinebetta's topic in SRC Contest and prizes section
are they serious? new tank setup, you bring LS, within 1 day of setting up they will judge how nice? doesn't sound like a sensible way of doing it. shouldn't they reward those that are carefully cultivated over time rather than thrown together in a day?? -
maybe you can give an indication of where you live so ppl can advise a nearer LFS

Cheap??? Method of Reefing ...
XPeriment 626 replied to lizard44's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
you want real cheapo method of reefing? 1) Buy a large transparent tupperware box 2) Go east coast, fill with seawater 3) Drop in a rock or two 4) Put in one damsel 5) Put small air pump 6) Change 20% fresh seawater every weekend Ta-da! Cheapo reefing! (actually FOWLR, but aiyah got moving things inside can liao) -
actually my fren from melbourne says it is a freak summer at the moment. apparently it just SNOWED in summer in canberra, which is even nearer the equator than melbourne. and in mid-jan when I went to Gold Coast for holiday, it was 18 deg C!!! Surfer's Paradise my foot!!

how long must u off the skimmer when add phyto??
XPeriment 626 replied to jOsHiE's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
i don't turn off the skimmer, as it skims from the sump. I turn off the return pump from the sump, so that the water in the tank stays inside the tank. Circulation is done by the in-tank wavemakers. After 1 hour then i turn the return pump on again. There is a mild overflow during this 1 hour as i have a secondary loop from my sump and chiller direct into the tank. -
The three numbers at the back of the credit card are for security verification. When you make a purchase at a shop, your CC number and expiry date will appear on the receipt, but not these numbers. For internet transactions, to prevent people from buying using the information found on a receipt they picked up off the street, most sites require you to enter the three security digits to prove you are actually in possession of the card and not just a receipt. Protect these numbers, never reveal them to anyone over the phone, as they can go and then buy stuff online using your card.
