Motivating Factors for Suicide Bombers???
XPeriment 626 replied to AquaRa's topic in General Reefkeeping_
most of them have been indoctrinated (brainwashed) from young in extremist schools and taught to kill in the name of their religion. to us, it seems like craziness to be suicidal, but imagine you grew up isolated from the rest of the world and told your mission in life is to die gloriously killing evil men, i guess you would be more willing to do such things. -
not true leh, got a lot of married people who are very ugly

think we should just note the incident and learn from it (ie don't anyhow chin chai and trust strangers then later regret) However, posting the nick wouldn't be helpful as - person can just log in with a new nick - no offence to thread starter, this incident is one person's point of view. if we start flaming ppl becos of one-sided stories, who knows the next thread we will see is "xxxxxxx person cheated me, dun deal with him" etc etc when actually the story might be false. so my sympathies to the NS boy and i hope some good things happen to him soon to help him get over this incident, but let's not start posting nicks unless a lot of people come forward and attest that one particular person has been doing underhanded things.

wow if i never clean glass for two years, i think i will not be able to find my tank at all loh (will look like potted plant decoration) -
nah, i'm pretty sure they're all real. Been to Japan, seen the atrocious english. There was also an article in the papers a few years ago about how they were trying to clean up the bad english in time for Korea/Japan World Cup 2002, but it was so widespread that a lot got missed out.

You might not need to do much cycling if you have transplanted mature rocks and coral chips, which already contain denitrifying bacteria. Thus, your ammonia and nitrites do not get to build up because they are broken down quickly. Your tank might be cycled already by now. Blackpuma's experience is the same as mine. Transplanting mature LRs and sand, my tank didn't need to be cycled for more than a few days. So far, it's been running for about five months and all LS are ok, fish and corals.

notice the deathly silence from ManU and Arsenal fans. but at least they do not need to use dirty tricks to win like Chelsea. CHEAT-SEA should be their name.

i use a small glass or a chicken essence bottle and put a little bit of food inside. place the bottle leaning against the rocks so that the crabs can climb in from the top. once the crab is in, it can't get out again because it is too slippery. i've caught a lot of hairy crabs that way. you might have to put a rubber band or two across the entrance to make it narrower so that cleaner shrimps/small fish don't try to go in and steal the food. all the best with catching those pests

hard work pays off. brilliant tank!

A related issue would be whether some types of shrimps can be kept in groups or must be kept singly. I have two boxer shrimps that keep fighting and snapping each others' claws off, so in the end had to separate them, one into the sump the other left in the display tank.

oops haha thanks

ahahaha justin! you are just waiting for someone to come and overtake Man U / Ferguson as the most hated club/manager in England rite!!! and Chris, Mourinho didn't buy many spaniards. He brought over some portugese from Porto, but I think he's bought more english and french players. It's Benitez who has brought over a lot of Spaniards to Liverpool (Nunez, Alonso, Garcia, Josemi, Morientes, Pellegrino). Think he should have just bought Barcelona and make them all Liverpool players

The truth behind water change is that the exact composition of sea water (and its effect on the inhabitants of your tank) is not yet completely understood by scientists. Yes, the main issues are nutrient export and replenishment of trace elements, but there are also other chemical wastes produced in very small amounts that are not skimmed out nor broken down/used by bacteria or plant life. Hence a regular partial water change is to remove some of the old water and to dilute it with new clean water. Don't forget, you are trying to re-create a massive body of water and a gigantic, complex ecosystem within a small little glass box. The equipment and additives we are currently using are poor substitutes and ultimately the water going in circles round and round is getting less and less healthy for tank inhabitants on a daily basis.

well that fella with flying rowas is going to see lots of rowa bits in his tank or sump soon. Good luck trying to clear that out before leaching occurs.
