hi guys looking to upgrade my skimmer if someone takes this offer the entire skimmer package contains everything u need to start running it. simply plug and play contains: 1)the skimmer itself which is the beckett BULLET design (different from the normal design, its better in my very honest opinion) HEIGHT : 48inch (4ft) diameter: 6inch 2)waste collector 3)all hoses and pipings that run from pump to skimmer, and from collection cup to waste collector 4)md55 pressure rated pump skimmer is only 5months old (u see the brown paper than protects the acrylic? i still haven't remove ) if brand new, retail price for 32" bullet + 12" extension + md55 pump + waste collector = 495 + 70 + 150+90=$800/- and this isn't even including hoses and pipes. i am only looking at $550/- this price is very good already. if the selling price cannot be met then i shall simply keep and use it and say bye bye to my upgrade plan interested can pm or contact at 91697799 BUYER IS TO STRICTLY VIEW BEFORE BUYING, i will not entertain buyers requesting me to deliver to them without viewing based on trust my place is near boon keng mrt

as per above post RESERVED BY CYBERPIG i will reply back here if he turns out to be pilot real size ah, i wouldn't know cos i haven't stuck a ruler in to measure, besides, its not exactly a circle so hard to tell u wat exact size u r looking for

it can also help to increase the flow in your tank simply by installing a good wave maker like tunze or seio. actually, most reefers i know who are keeping sps still have such algae growing but its not an outbreak. as long as yours isn't an outbreak and its just slow growth in certain small areas, then just let it be

thank you! actually the real specimen looks even nicer as some parts on the rock the zoos have actually coloured up to baby blue as the main body rather than the previous greyish blue colour...just goes to show what patience can bring! anyway, its reserved by cyberpig

loosely speaking, 1mg/L is 1ppm u refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parts_per_million under "Examples of parts per notation" i quote: "1 litre (L) of water has mass of approximately 1 kg1, so 1 milligram per litre (mg/L) is, loosely speaking, 1 ppm, for small concentrations in a water solution." -
u wan seio620 ah? i have one i think i should sell leaw, dun see any use for it u wan? can pm me with offering price (see whether u got do homework)

no its not low enough po4 should be undetectable anyway invest in salifert po4 test kit, the cheapo ones have been shown to be inconsistent -
lol sis, if u put corals that dun need light in those dark areas, then how can u see them to admire them?? as for wave maker, i would recommend u get tunze and the controller and pulse the pump rather than using a powerhead and run on timer because u haf 3 pumps and each running 20mins alternately so that would mean 1 pump would on every 1hr. i on off on off a pump will seriously shorten its life span
-
lol bro cos u BB tank and put sps rite? anyway, a seio620 would be good for your tank, no expensive and not too strong and they are not expensive wavemakers help with preventing excess dirt or food from settling on the sand and dirtying your tank...IMO, better use 1 than don't

shoelevy replied to alvin_varian's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
that's rite po4 supposed to be less than 0.03 0.1 is quite high po4 can stunt coral growth esp hard corals and kill them if excessively high time to change your po4 media dude -
just tune such that when u look at the media the media is dancing but doesn't fly up get my point? look at the surface, just make sure its dancing can leaw. FR doesn't need too strong flow through

montipora cap quite easy in my opinion recognised by its plating nature jamomatt, i think your tank must be stable and mature lor...like more than 9mths old perhaps? most important is lightings, current flow and stable water parameters...fluctuating parameters can cause rtn or stn. if u wanna try can always kapo some frags from friends like the man i am still very grateful for giving me so much support in sps -
yr cl650 cut in too often already going to suffer alot of wear and tear. not to mention chiller draws alot of power when kicking in either set your temperature lower or increase the flow through the chiller i suggest the 2nd method. try sth like 2000L/hr so far so good for me
-
lol so then i rephrase my question if given a choice between 420nm and 450nm, which would be a wiser choice for colouring up of corals?
-
i wouldn't advise keeping hard corals in such a new tank. but some people might succeed so hopefully your goniopora does well, but in the mean time, try to stick with easier soft corals first
-
so in choosing between blue pro and actinic lamps for colouring up of corals it would be wiser to pick actinic?
