hey bro thanks for such a detailed explanation
-
oh, he said air inlet so i thought it was the one at the durso both are air inlets ma paiseh hermit's method is full up tube with water by submerging it upside down to fill it with air just lift it up lor hermit, i didn't forget
-
hermit, your design has the air inlet at the durso to reduce toilet bowl noise right? remember me calling you to ask about it?
-
i wanted to keep the picture simple? if u're testing me then i shall go on by saying the air outlet is meant to reduce noise of air ###### into the pipe leading out of the overflow it also serves to maintain a constant flow instead of suck fast fast, empty out the last compartment with a loud toilet bowl sound then the cycle repeats
-
once power is restored, as return pump pumps, water level in the main tank rises and water overflows into left most compartment(the inner box) water level rises, pressure differences results in leftmost and middle compartment causing water to flow in the inverted U tube middle compartment starts to fill up with water and spills into right most compartment and flows down the pipe to sump the flow through the overflow box is restored hermit, anything wrong with my undersatnding of the system?
-
hermit, here's what i undersatnd of diy overflows, hope someone sees it and will learn to shut up during blackout, last compartment is drained out leaving behind middle compartment. middle compartment serves as buffer zone since its always full of water making sure that both ends of the inverted U pvc tube is always submerged this is crucial since if the end is exposed to air,air being lighter will fill the inverted U tube taking the place of water.
-
to hermit, my respects, always have respected you to other guy, no more attention from me and if u wanna win, u win lor

ok AT thanks for pointing out -
u wanna tell me which part i said wrong about the overflow box? appreciate it if u could because if u do, i will learn oh, just occurred to me, are you a person who has knowledge but never shares? are you a person with a narrow heart bearing grudges? ok, if u got nothing contructive to say anymore in this thread, i shall make it a pt to ignore you from here on
-
and i will too apologising if neccessary
-
seriously DK, ever since the last confrontation with gouldian, i never...NEVER crossed his path in a peaceful or non-peaceful way, he chose to do this in this thread
-
once, an lfs owner told me that any colour that is yellow in a coral is dyed. so i'm placing my bets on dyed
-
i thank you so much decentkid i thank you so much
-
oh, u still have them?...obviously u bear grudges. go ahead because i truely want to know what's in your mind provide solid evidence and u can shame me all you want, and i will be mature and offer my apology if not, i'd expect an apology from u
-
bro u ownself saw what he wrote without me provoking him recently if he said that to you, what would u feel? i know he's a A class reefer and i suck, i'm D grade because i crashed my tank but SO WHAT? who doesn't make mistakes? the probably only difference between me and him is he make small mistakes and i made a BIG one everyone,u be the judge, who's being the arrogant sone here about wrong advice i give, he probably still dwells over the incident where i stood up for a reefer whom everyone thought did the wrong thing with his setup, but what happened in the end?...he posted his tank pics, he posted one reply showing his knowledge and preparation before starting on the hobby and everyone was impressed. i don't mind being wrong and heeding good advice, but this birdie here, instead of correcting my mistakes, goes on a sarcastic spree of words even established reefers here gif me gd advice...but not this one why?...u ask him
-
you once said i should buzz off your comments and i have and i've even offered my apologies to you besides, who knows what mistakes you have made, u just decided to keep them to yourself...we're human, we err so please do not start another incident u got anything to say u say it in pm

hey seriously man, since so many of us feel this way about the article, about what was left out or what was written and especially about educating the public, shouldn't we come up with some kind of powerful action not targetted to anyone in specific but just to set things right? perhaps a real letter via snail mail written by a powerful person from SRC (such as AT?) to straits times. with the fact that it was AT who wrote it, i believe its much more powerful than my email frankly, i do not believe straits times would publish what i wrote anywhere in the papers any time because i believe all of us here can feel that the article was alittle too strong? it would make SP and straits times lose alot of face...not just that, strats times would definitely consult SP on what i wrote and you know what SP would say la! so if AT would do us a favour?...for the honour of reefers and for the lives of innocent marine creatures? and muarchee!...if u ever call SP and tell them COM'ON!, what kinda final yr project is that!...i'll be behind u... -
specially for someone? i thought he makes it for quite a number of other reefers right hermit? besides, i believe that someone decommissioned his tank and so has no more use for the overflow box, might as well sell it and share the marvelous work of hermit with others

in my opinion no use really, because they reporters are not hobbyists, at most they'll just come "see see" our forum they won't realise how wrong they and SP are neither will they realise how complex, tough and beautiful this hobby is and not to mention the money and discipline you have to display (i admit i've been lacking in these areas but i'm trying my best!) they'll probably shrug us off as hardcore la, siao la, and what have you besides, its such a small article, they'll give much more attention to people who feedback on say palestinian/isreali issues worse ah!....if they decide to take revenge for whatever reason la...they know we all at SRC!!! better not get SRC involved...one person die better than 3000+ people in this forum ya? hope u understand my reasons for not mentioning SRC -

i faced this problem if its coralline bleaching, check if either your Ca, kh or Mg is low. when i had this problem of coralline bleaching it turned out my Mg was low and that cause my kh and Ca to drop
-
maybe one day we should have scarab, linkin, hon, dan and alfa house visiting and tank viewing session sure big crowd!!! seriously, i'd realy like to see the actual tank!
-
u r correct ppm=mg of solute dissolved/L of solvent meq/l is another unit for measurement but i've only come across it for kh. i don't know but maybe it has other uses 1meq/l = 2.8dkh
