i feed my prata once a week...sometimes even twice a week but a friend of mine who feeds its 3times a week manage to boost colour EXTREMELY gorgeous...no kidding, the colour under white light is similar to what most of us would get under actinic...real shining green but there's a problem with his prata because if he's ever caught up with work or school and forget to feed his prata, his prata will show attitude meaning not open because "not happy" when my friend notices this and feeds it, it immediate returns to normal... so i guess moral of the story is feed as often as you can to boost colour, but don't feed tOO often

most people when it comes to good camouflaging skills think of the chameleon...but in fact, the octopus and cuttlefish can do it just as well or even better cheers

i would agree that closing down the pasar malam section deals with newbs who think they can come in play play with the hobby and give up after it crashes if this really comes true, what might you suggest regarding more established reefers who wish to sell off an old equipment after an upgrade?...for eg my case where i sold off my macro after getting a beckett how would i sell it if the pasar malam is closed? (don't get me wrong blueheaven, i'm not typing in a sarcastic tone, i'm really puzzled by those questions on my mind...no offense

oh i see... its so interesting to see that fishes can actually cross breed do you know if it is a deliberate act or perhaps a mistake on the fish's part? as in issit possible the fish egg accidentally detach from rock and float to another area where a male fish of another species is releasing sperm?

nope...not even if both fails what you needa do to prevent flooding is to put the output as high up as possible(without causing much salt spray) so that when the pump fails, there's little water for the pipe to siphon back to confirm no flooding...just do a blackout test...off everything hope this helps

hi guys, today was looking at my tank when i spotted a baby jewel about 3mm across below its mother coral. ok i know many will think "could you be mistaken" since its so small, could it be sth else, but no, i took a long hard look and i'm sure its a baby jewel i'm very excited but at the same time clueless about 1)what do i need to take note of...is there any special care that i need to give it? 2)what does this propagation speak of the health of the parent jewel? many thanks in advanced to any who advices on this

hi DA, perhaps you're right on the part about not having listened to them and triggering some -ve response apologise for that but i've learnt to be much more receptive to advice regarding the looking down part, i don't wish to talk about it anymore...wanna leave it all behind...but for the record, those who were there will know what i'm talking about aniwae, how's the zoos DK gave you? they were pink right?

great to hear that good news man forzen mysis too small ah?...if you're as heartless as me(God forbid as i have cleaned my hands of blood ) can try fresh water mollies or freshwater shrimp...it eats while it was in my tank... frankly, eating frozen mysis wasn't its main diet when i had it, i was lucky it started taking them... oh, one more thing, i noticed it will go after live brine shrimp...and it was after i fed it live brine acouple of times then it started going after frozen mysis, perhaps you wanna give live brine a try? btw, i tried frozen lance fish but to no avail, its now in my freezer no use, you wanna have it? if u wan just drop me an sms

good point hamannbmw me and a couple of my buddies who reef have had very bad comments coming from other reefers who look down on us because we have had our tanks crashed before...i mean everyone makes mistakes, is it necessary to deal very harsh words just because someone made a grave mistake that you didn't??? those harsh words from those reefers made me feel very bad and to a certain extent has made it hard to post questions about problems i face because i know that they're watching...gathering evidences of more failures to deal harsh words in the future again...this also makes me lose confidence in keeping things i do not know much about because i know that if i make a mistake, i cannot post online to ask without them watching me... i hope this trend doesn't continue
-
from the same guy? did your ric recover and turn blue?
-
i hope i'm not mistaken but by the looks of it, that's the only thing that resembles a coral isn't it? i'd be disappointed too
