i'd use a test kit to affirm ammonia 0 if i were u.
indicate safe seems ambiguous
lifestock dies refers to fish or corals?
temperature of tank?
specific gravity?
HOW did u cycle your tank?
wat change in ammonia, nitrite and nitrate did u notice during cycling?
also, provide other water parameters...kh alone is not enough to determine anything
gif ph, nh3, no2, no3 as well
i've just acquired a new XM 10kk bulb to replace my age-ing BLV20kk bulb
here's just a photo to show the difference in colour (photos are taken w/o actinic supplements)
basically, i was surprised the 10kk isn't as yellow as i had imagined.
i also found that the fish's colours appeared more vibrant and colourful when under the 10kk as compared to when under the 20kk
recently my hammer started dying off
i tried to pull the whole coral off but the epoxy's hold is very strong and didn't give wae...not one bit
its been about 3mths now so i hope this answers this pt u brought up
its very saddening to see my hammer which has been with me for 5mths suddenly wither away
i now believe its got sth to do with high no3...50ppm...since another 2 of my corals are browning...have applied AZ no3 and keeping fingers crossed
while checking out the hammer, i saw this brown substance that's growing close to the areas where the flesh starts to recede
i wasn't able to find many photos on the internet on what brown jelly looks like so i'm posting some photos here
i hope someone can help me confirm if its brown jelly that my hammer was facing
i've also snipped awae the heads that had this brown substance leaving behind only 2 healthy heads...
