I don't have hermit crab. I forgot the crab species name when I bot it...it got nice colour, about 1 1/2 inch big. My tank is 3ft. I'll leave them there, see survive longer.

My maroon clown like to swipe his tail on the sand bed all the time. Tried to put a flat LR on the place he always swipe the sand to prevent him from doing it but he went to other place now. Because of that some of my buttons got buried and the sand circulating around. So irritating....but to soft hearted to fish him out of my tank. My maroon look very healthy and colour very vivid. Plse help me find solution.

I am using the bigger model. My problem is: when I move the pump in sump tank, there are small bubble building as per normal but after awhile no bubble then it came back again. After several fault finding, I think the pump must be place at a certain angle. Anyone got this type of problem or any solution. Now it is ok....worried problem come back again.

Have patience and you will have a healthy LS and corals. BTW this hobby must have lots of patience. Don't be foolish to be in a hurry to stock up your tank. One false move and your tank will crash. Good luck

Jz clear all my coral chips and put in LR. When I clear my coral chips, I do it stages by stages. But still maintain my bio-ring till next month on the safe side so that bacteria can cultivate in the new LR.

I had my Flame for nine months. Never has she disturb my corals. As a matter of fact, she is a very well behave fish....I feed my fishes twice with pallette and once with frozen brine shrimp in a day.
Fishes are like human, if you bring home a women who eats alot, she will attack anything edible in your home....including your fav snacks. It all boils down to luck.
I have Yellow & Blue Tank too, they are a darling. Friends told me my fishes look very healthy and happy....only my Maroon Clown like to once in along while like to surprise my Percular Clown.
If the Flame bother you, catch it and release it back to the wild...like waters in Labrador Park.

Why is my Banded Brittle Star legs got shorter? Is it got cut by my crab? It also not hiding in the LR but stick itself to the tank glass at the top since I introduce my crab? Is it running away from something?

Thanks guys.
I am using overflow filtration. I will changing water again later after a week. Going to clean my filtration media and change my poly filter. But I always clean them and poly filter turn dark brown after 3 or 4 weeks. Don't you think it is too fast?
My needlewheel skimmer is doing very well cuz can see dirty after few days. Been having problems with NO3 for few months. NO2 is zero. Rest of water perimeter is good. Btw, I am using Sera test kit and also used my friend Tetra Test kit to double confirmed.
I feed my fishes frozen brine shrimps once a day and a little dry mosel food twice a day. Direct feed my corals with chopped prawns and marine snow once a week.
Friends say that my fishes look very healthy and corals look not bad.
I will still keep my bio balls for a month before clearing them away, leaving only life rocks to cultivate the bacteria.
Thanks for all your wisdom and appreciate if any members have anything to advice to add.

I have a 3x 1 1/2x 1 1/2 feet tank, using an internal overflow for 9mths. My NO3 is very high and someone told me it may be due to my coral chips. I tried every method to bring down the NO3 like weekly water change, putting in denitrite, less feeding .... So I removed all my coral chips and I bot small live rocks to replaced it. Will this method help? Should I put the small live rocks in the chamber before the bio-balls or after? Plse help.
I have 7 fishes, 2 star fishes, a cleaner prawn, sea cucumber, sea urchin, crab and variety of soft and hard corals. I am using a Resun chiller, MH light, macro needlewheel skimmer.

Thanks for your kind wisdom. I just set mine to 27degree. I notice my 2mths old elegance didn't open as big as it used to when i set my temperature lower. But the rest was doing alright. Lets see what happen from now.
My friends told me most corals are from regional waters so they don't need the water to be cold, just constant around 27 degree will be fine.

I just bought a Resun CL450 for my 3ft by 1.5 by 1.5ft. I am using an internal overflow system. I have 7 fishes. For corals I have prata, leathers, hammer, moon, anemoe, elegance, mushrooms, plates and bubble. I am using MH.
Can anyone please tell me what is the ideal temperature for my tank. Right now my temperature in tank is 25.5. Will a not right temperature affect my corals and fishes?

My marine tank is 9 month old now. I started the hobby using bioballs and coral chips. Now can i get rid of them and replace with LR. I am trying to bring my NO3 down, they are high. I am using an internal overflow for my 3 feet tank.
-
Mine also turn white after buying it for a week. I put it away from the rest and very close to the lights at the top of LR. But rest of corals look ok. So do I have to throw it away or let it recover by itself? If so how long will it recover back to prime health?
thanks
