  7. 1st time heard of fresh water clownfish, maybe LFS meant its under hypo? i dont think can convert like that, otherwise fresh water planted tank u will see ppl keep clownfish. Plus this is expensive designer clown, dont think ppl will dare experiment on that. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  9. my setup is filter media —> refugium —> skimmer —> return pump. i think no hard and fast rule on where to put the skimmer, by logic should be after filter media cos u dun wan the big particles choke the pump. Skimmer is more for DOC removal. i think skimmer height and water level is more important to control the skimming. just sharing. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  13. u cannot control flow rate, just plug and play, i connect to the toilet biget piping so the flow is strong Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  14. oh yes, i also tried fresh water dip, it is effective also, immediate all white spots drop, i think it gives fish fighting chance. but if too serious infection fish might not able tahan the shock so i only fresh dip in initial stage and certain fish also more sensitive to fresh water dip. i tried on clowns before is ok Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  15. i dont think it helps for temp, other is tank transfer which is super troublesome and hypo, hypo seems success rate also not high. copper i think is the least work and most reliable, problem with copper is ppl debate about is poison...its all about using the correct dosage for the corresponding chemical, those safe chemicals at high dose can also be deadly. 16. do note is those pumpless type, the wastage will be higher compared to pump type. for me the waste water goes to flushing toilet mop floor etc..Do note also u need buy the additional add on for the DI resin otherwise cant reach zero TDS, default is 3 stage and can reach below 10 TDS if u not so particular Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  17. i buy from TB, cheap and good. so far no issue using for 2 yrs liaoz. can reach TDS zero with the fourth stage. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  18. not expert here, but i recommend treating it if u have QT tank. Copper is quite safe imo, i use cupramine at low dose and measurement at regular intervals to keep copper at certain level. clownfish is quite hardy so shld no issue. treated a few times is quite safe. For me i didnt leave fishless for 76 days, i only tried about 30 days. then i test water and put 1 tang inside as they more prone to ich, if monitor 2 weeks no spots den i put the rest back in. my system got run UV lah maybe it helps shorten the time. just sharing. 19. its best you check all the parameters to find out root cause. My 1st anemone was killed by me when i put in my nano tank when its quite new, most likely killed by the instability...as for scallops i buy frozen from ntuc, but feed it small pieces and observe if it will take, if not take most likely will GG, if take then probably u need take it slow, alt days i tink too much, probably once a week and observe. 25. Hi reefers, Just wanna share about Prime Fuge. Been using for past 6 months, so far quite happy with the growth. Full blast spectrum on reverse photo period 20hrs. Use to light both my scrubber and fuge. Harvest every 2-3 weeks. Didn’t tumble just let it float and spread the cheato evenly over the water surface to maximize surface area for photosynthesis.
