Bi weekly cleaning 300g of fish poop lol (GHA + Cheato combined; plastic tub weight already excluded) Suddenly got new idea, since my sump a lot light spill, can try “Cheato Floss” Since cheato is good nutrient export plus good mechanical filter, Let it grow in filter cup and act as filter floss. When harvest, just throw the cheato away and put new CheatoFloss lol. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Trying out the poor man Apex, Reef seneye Followed the BRS hack and get the PC stick instead of the expensive webserver Seems to work fine, but this is mainly for monitoring and email alerts for your tank. For absolute controllability, still need go with APEX. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Just my opinion, wont it be easier to get a bigger 1 stage tank to house your main tank and frags instead of going 2 stage. Another thing is if u have kids at home, they might climb this, so u have to take into account. Happy reefing! Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

i using this but i dont remember got this problem. Kamoer calibration is quite standard. start calibrate will flow X amount of liquid out. u just key in the recorded amount, the pump will auto cal the flow rate. Then u manual flow and check if correctly calibrated. hope this helps. i also remember the device got auto purge function, meaning before u do calibration, it will start spinning to ensure no air bubble in tube otherwise its not accurate. For me, i connect the out tubing back to dosing bottle, so the device can do its purging and u not waste ur dosing solution. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

this brand i not used before, but i bought another brand from taobao, its waterfall style, the craftmanship is very bad, lights they just silicone to the plastic, very unsightly they dont even bother even out the excess silicone, i also dont trust their water proofing, as ATS light is close to the water this is factor u need to consider. End of day, u pay for the design, ease of maintenance and safety. Thats y those products from US so expensive. Just my 2 cents. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Time to experiment again! Trying randy’s DIY recipe Baked baking soda. Trying this as my alk consumption is the highest compare to calcium ingredients 1) Arm and hammer from ntuc -$1.5 for 454grams- good for 2.9 liters of alk solution! 2) RODI - free? (from my existing setup lol) 3) Measuring scale- Free! Kop from kitchen 4) container and mixing tool- Free! Kop from existing setup 5) Small oven -$30 Max - $35 plus electric, plus some effort lol. Non DIY version Red part B liquid $20.50 for 500ml if compare to equivalent DIY = almost $120 base on my calculations. Hope it works! Slow transition from existing 2 part by red sea and measure alk after few days. intend to start 1ml per day first and monitor Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

and also certain types of pump can adjust the flow by turning the knob like sicce, maybe yours is turn to lowest flow rate? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

not expert here but i see that your setup involves a lot a bends and up and down, probably too much for the pump especially the last part like rollercoaster going up ramp, to troubleshoot, i recommend u do the same setup but without the chiller(just make a close loop) den u see if the pump is the issue or not. the pump rating is not so simple one, it may be rated 2500 but u need to count in max height or something. hope it helps. the longer the connection or more kinks and bends the lower the pump efficiency due to drag. Brown jelly disease ?
Otaku Reefer replied to jonanaz's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
not expert here but i read brown jelly will spread if not stopped, if its me, i will quickly take that frag out and dip in iodine (seachem reefdip) to be safe, if u have a QT tank, can also put it there to monitor after the dip. Did your tank have any swings that could cause this? sudden Alk spike or nutrient shock? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -
Hi reefers, Anybody had experience with swallowtail angel? Are they truly reef-safe? TIA [emoji120] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

also might be a good idea to use a handheld TDS meter to check, maybe the machine meter faulty or wrong connection resulting in false reading. if its new set, it cannot be the DI resin or RO exhaust so fast, five stage should be no problem get zero TDS,mine is 4 stage and without pump can also get zero TDS. Hope it helps u, if all else fails maybe u can ask to return, should be under warranty? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
