  1. Any clam expert can advise if clams under 3 inch need supplement feeding? or is just myth? Any advise is appreciated!! Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  2. tried a few times he just spit out i tink he would rather die den eat pallet but i feed at night after i back from work, no chance i can feed in the morning though Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  3. For me, i tear down display and catch all fish to quarantine with cupramine no choice, the “feed well and ich will go away method dont work for me”. Display will go fallow for 3 months. after that outbreak i dare not don’t quarantine. i quarantine with sandbed and marine pure to control ammonia as i tink ammonia also a big killer if u cant keep up with water change in QT, i dose cupramine at half dose and maintain at 0.1 (salifert) works for me, need to dose more with sandbed as they will absorb copper, alternatively you can follow traditional method of bare bottom with sponge filter, i maintain about 2 weeks until no spot seen den change water and do prazipro treatment. after prazi den change water and monitor again, if no spots den likely is clear for display. My 2 cents. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  4. for seeding, i use algagen tisbe and apocylops , i got bad exp with tigger pods tried 3 times tigger pods in two different tanks all disappear without trace Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  5. maybe u can also try TDO chromaboost, choose the smallest size one, my mandarin eats this, use pipette drop in front of it and it start munching away. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  6. Just my 2 cents, its not about whether u can or cannot be successful if you dont follow the “golden standard”. Its more about when things start going downhill, if too many variable in the equation it will make troubleshooting very complicated, which factor causing the issue you dont know for sure. So its better to follow the rulebook and use Chiller/RODI and save yourself some trouble? My 2 cents lah Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  7. for me, i use caribsea bahamas oohlite as bottom sand den use special grade sand cover on top, oohlite sand is fine sand so will be better for denitrifying, the coarser sand is cover on top to reduce sand storm from high flow. as for sandbed maintenance, i use a lot of CUC like narsarius snail, conch cerith to turn sandbed plus eat fish poop. my 2 cents. 8. u got do calibration? normally got 0.5 to 1 deg difference de, for hailea chiller think got offset function, for example if display is 26 and actual is 27, then ur offset should be -1, if display 27 actual 26 den offset shld be +1, u can try first see if it works Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  15. red bucket is the red sea normal salt, coral pro all elements elevated, not sure good or bad but i think better stick to ocean values, i would recommend u stick to red sea red bucket (normal one), i notice u using ntuc water ah, why dont invest in RODI system? can buy from taobao 4 stage get zero tds..not super ex, ard 60 sgd bah Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  16. i notice u using coral pro, that is high alk salt ah, for softies use red bucket can liao.. my 2 cents again Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  17. did u check alk? i overdose alk before, corals die one by one... Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  21. Hi reefers, Anyone managed to wean bengai onto pellets or flakes? if so, can advise how you do it. i had mine for 2 mths already only taking frozen mysis... it will taste the pellets but spit out right away.. damn picky... Thanks! Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  22. alternative is go pasar malam see if ppl let go cheato reactor... from wat i see fellow reefer harvest from reactor is thick and lush, is good option imo, but u need to look out for the light i recommend should radiate from center, i got DIY before using two little fishy phosban reactor and just shine light from outside, not very good cos green hair algae start growing on the reactor wall and block the light...my 2 cents lah.. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  23. if got budget and space can buy from US online santa monica ats, if no money go taobao search, but the lights included is most likely cmi, the light wattage i tink depends on ur bioload and feeding schedule, i currently using 45w light. go youtube check out diy ATS, if u good at DIY, can copy.. if u bery free also see how they explain fuge lighting, really need strong light lah, otherwise how to outcompete display tank light lol... Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  24. for cheato also depends on light and spectrum and area of exposure, get those blue red grow lights, and higher power one, also try max out ur cheato exposure by spreading across the surface to max out light adsorption since cheato always float to surface. this is for fuge, if u going reactor route should have no problem Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  25. just my opinion, both works, depends on the light, i got ATS but with cheapo lights growing dark algae, shld target light green color, once i change to better lights, the growth really good, can see photosynthesis overdrive a lot air bubbles on screen Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
