    yo lizard44, have you change water ever since u start the sugar dosing ? does tis system need to change water weekly or monthly ? after dosing large amt of sugar into the tank, after a long period of time (couple of mths) will the water turn sweet

    maybe ur clam, got parasite feeding on it, those cone shape snail. your NO3 might be high PO4 also. anyway just my two cents.
