Hi all, my finger leather hasn’t full extended its polyps for quite a long time. My alkalinity was quite high previously but even after bringing it back down to ~9dkh still not opening. Nitrates not too high at 10ppm or less as well. Any suggestions?

What trace elements is best to dose in a softies dominant tank? nepthea, toadstools, zoas, xenias and all

Tap water reads at 2dKh, tank water tested at 14dKh at 0.025 salinity using red sea blue bucket

Could the tap water from daily top offs be causing skyhigh KH? I tested it to be 2dKh and it’s been over a month since the 70 gallon was set up and I’m testing it to be at ~14dKh, which is much higher than what I’m shooting for. Currently only dosing Seachem trace elements and haven’t tested calcium either since the only stony coral i currently have is an alveopora.

This rhodactis has been spewing its tentacles from its mouth for around 3 days now, with some of the flesh around the mouth melted. Is it still possible for it to recover given optimal water conditions? Anyways, is it normal for rhodactis mouth to stay open for long periods of time?
