One LFS shared with me that the local breed pods can't really survive in our tank for long as the species is not for breeding but rather feeding. Apex pod survival rate very low. Trigger pod will eaten by the fish fast as they like to swim around hard to breed. Algagen look ok but haven't got chance to try.

Diatom is related to carbon dosing? Able to explain more bro?

Just do small water change to suck up all the detritus. Don't remove the coraline algae as it help to prevent the grow of other algae.
-
Just to add on a bit, between the refugium compartment and the next compartment design filter sock area to catch all the chaeto and dirt. Don't use normal filter sock but use net texture sock so it will not stop the pods from going to main tank. This will make clearing way more easy.

Reefmarketsg.com not responding after paying online
Indeco replied to peedeers's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Yeah reefmarketsg can be trusted, always try their best to accommodate to your needs. Don't worry bro! -
Depend on what kind of fish u keep. Generally fish around our areas is ok for 27 to 28. If you are keeping sensitive fish, deep sea fish or fish from colder countries US, Caribbean that side then the temp may need to be control at 26 to 27. I once encountered all my anthias breakout to Urenoma over night due to my QT tank hit 28.5.
-
Ah beng got sell but u must look for eating and healthy one else very hard to keep.
-
Like that u may want to remove them and try nopox. if ok then u don't need it anymore. Just make sure u skim wet for carbon dosing.
-
You want to further reduce ur PO4 and NO3? You can dose but must be very careful cause it may cause the chaeto to die off. I saw your other thread u got caulerpa then u must be extra careful cause if it goes sexual will cause big problem to your tank.

Cost of maintenance 350L tank and above w/ Chiller
Indeco replied to MrArrogant08's topic in General Reefkeeping_
I can't provide u the cost but my tank is 5x2x2 and I'm using hailea HS90A. Consumption is about 200 units monthly on the chiller, so if my consumption is fine with you then u will have no issue for ur new tank. -
Cost of maintenance 350L tank and above w/ Chiller
Indeco replied to MrArrogant08's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Is hard to answer your question as it depend what is ur goal for the tank. E.g. SPS dominated tank vs Fish only tank, the cost can be very different even the size is the same. If you got tight budget on reefing then I will suggest not to upgrade as later u will have problem sustain it. Generally if u want to calculate the cost, you can start with the below as guideline - power consumption of all equipments to get a rough estimation of ur electricity bill - water change schedule, RODI filter - dosing schedule Alk, Cal, Mg, trace element - mechanical filtration E.g filter wool, filter roll - biological filtration E.g bio media, refugium - chemical filtration E.g NO3 PO4 removal - testing schedule E.g test kits - quarantine tank (highly recommended) - feeding schedule E.g Fish Coral food supplement - live stock - tank cost As u can see got alot of areas to add up the cost and all areas are related in some ways. Hope this help u. -
Ich seldom will kill a fish unless is the powder series tangs so you don't have to worry very much. Now you can choose to live with the ich or eliminate it. Living with ich will required a bit more hard work by ensure your water is good condition and fishes are well fed with vitamins and omega rich foods. If you want to eliminate then you will have to go fishless for 76 days to be safe. You can go fishless with ur invert and coral in your main tank. The only problem will be your quarantine tank can handle all your fish or not? Are you able to manage the bio load while treating them with copper. If not your fish will die faster compare to leaving them in the tank. Nevertheless, I will still encourage you to setup the quarantine thank to handle diesease like velvet, fluke, brook, uronema which is way more deadly and hard to treat when reside in your main tank. If you encountered all these dieaseas you will find ich is nothing much.

Question about water changes
Indeco replied to LittleNat1's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
water change can keep up with the demand normally. -
what kind of live food your feeding? Pellet should be more nutrient dense compare to frozen food. If u want to buy pellet will recommend TDO Chroma Boost - small size
-
I using just RO unit and my TDS is 4 - 5. My tap water is 120 - 130 TDS.
-
Depend on ur budget. 4 to 5 stages is gd enough already. Some bros even use 3 stages.
