  1. Yap, leaving it in the open will not work.... Ytd night i try to freeze a bottle of ice and put in the tank for testing, less than 20 min the ice in the bottle melt completely and the temp only drop by 0.5c... I guess need to put the iced bottle in a plastic container then seal with cover then let the container float on the water to make the temperature last longer... got time will do this testing and share if is working...
  2. You can get from NTUC extra or giant I haven't try out yet just thinking whether it will work or not
  3. My tank hit 32c now... lucky no fish inside if not maybe GG liao... I wonder this help or not...
  4. My QT tank temperature is on raise I guess due to the hot weather these few days and also my new pump... now is 30.8C liao… I know putting fan help a bit but wonder got any quick fix way to reduce the heat ah? Thx in advance...
  5. Oh... i still thought is because i never de-cholrinate the water that why reading is like that... this mean that my rock is back to live again...
  6. I just did a test on the water that I used to cure my rock and below are the results Ammonia > 2 ppm Nitrite > 1 ppm Nitrate > 50 ppm The result is like that because I used tap water and the chlorine is causing the result to go crazy? haha... or something is wrong with my rock?
  7. Like what @soggycookies bro said, zoas or palythoa will release palytoxin when they feel endanger... but I read a few oversea forum they believe that pulsing xenia don't contain palytoxin, should be that guy accidentally do something to other coral that cause the palytoxin to be release... I still planning to put the pulsing xenia as my 1st coral... hopefully they will investigate further and clear the truth...
  8. Aquarium owner warns over pulsing xenia coral risk Is this real? sound quite dangerous lei...
  9. haha... guess will check out more on their video... after watching the video seem like bleach is good choice to really kill off the funny thing in the rock...
  10. bro thx for the link, i watch their 52 weeks setup on the 160 gallon tank but never check out the rest... haha...
  11. Erm i don't mind using bleach but the bleach is just those that selling at NTUC? Then after i bleach already what should i do? use activated carbon to rinse the rock to remove the bleach? Sorry for asking so many questions, this part i really no idea how to do it...
  12. Well bro i understand where you coming from but for this time i don't have a choice... anyway i planning to buy the hydrogen peroxide from guardian to nuke them liao....
  13. Bro, I guess i will do the curing again as i scare got things still alive inside the rocks.... i don't have RODI system so will be using de-chlorinated water to soak, but will it kill the parasites or not? I already brought the prodibio digest to help cycle my tank
  14. Hi bros, I just brought some rocks back from the LFS and wonder should I do curing for it. These rocks are actually live rock but was already soaked and dry liao so can be considered as dead rocks, but when I see the rocks I still able to see some funny things on it so what I should do ah? 1) Ignore it and just use since already cured... 2) Do the curing again by scrap off those funny thing and soak with tap water or hydrogen peroxide to kill all the parasites... These rocks will be using in my new tank...
  15. Yeah totally agree with it, guess I will improvise along the way... Hope the dead of my 1st fish will not come too soon...
  16. Actually I don't mind using copper to "pre-treat" the fishes, the reason i never use copper is because i planning to use the same tank for QT coral. I don't have enough space to put any tank for QT coral... haha... The transfer method i read online before, if i not wrong is got to do with the ick cycle so keep transfer between tank to eliminate it... For fresh water dip i think is quite good as can instantly kill a lot of parasites but i not sure where can i find information that which kind can dip and which kind cannot and how long to dip... i scare do wrongly the fish die faster...
  17. haha... no lah still learning... for the treatment will need advice from you guys liao...
  18. Hi bros, newbie here still learning... can help me see my below QT steps got problem or not 1) Acclimate fishes using QT tank water (drip method) 2) Once acclimate completed, will put the fishes in the QT for observation (no copper or other treatment in the water) 3) During observation will provide food below to build up immunity system - Dr.G anti parasitic fish food - Dr.G anti bacterial fish food - Pallet mixed with garlic 4) Check the fishes everyday, if any issue spotted immediately move to hospital tank for treatment 5) If no issue, after 2 weeks to 1 month then will move to display tank isolation box 6) Display tank will have a isolation box to allow the fish to acclimate with other fishes 7) Maybe 2 or 3 days later if no issue then will release the fishes into the community ** Thinking for control the QT salinity at 1.021 to 1.022 Please correct my steps if i'm wrong...
  19. haha... yeah the excitement is there... but don't worry I will not take short cut will be doing my QT right from the beginning for the sake of myself and the fishes...
  20. I actually gotten the quote from them to setup a complete 5x2x2 tank which is 9 to 12k.... really too premium for me... haha... but they do provide good pre-sales services...
  21. Thx for the advice given bros... Will go to Iwarna and fish channel to take a look... Do understand that as reefer I need to do my due diligent to QT the fish but i just afraid that due QT i will kill the fishes because of my inexperience. Hence, wanted to look for a stable LFS... Seem like SAS is quite a hot topic among reefer... haha...
  22. I went to a few of the LFS to check out the fishes and so far I feel that SAS and Sea life aquarium their fish look quite healthy and "promising" Once my cycle is done I going to kick start the tank with 3 to 5 fishes so will like to know is there any decent LFS I can get my fishes? I'm a newbies so wanted to find a more stable LFS to start with else I scare my mortality rate will be super high...
  23. yap, unless is for those more sensitive type then maybe need a fan to help maintain lower temperature...
  24. Thx bros for the advice, will take note of it I planning to use refugium in the sump to compete the nutrients in the main tank hopefully can reduce the outbreak... Once cycle is completed will do WC and then put Rowaphos in to see whether help or not...
  25. oh ok, thx for the info bro I'm still quite worry on how to handle the temperature when doing quarantine
