Just checked the symptoms of velvet, all hit except for the fine yellow or rusty colored point.... Symptoms Scratches against hard objects Fish is lethargic Loss of appetite and weight loss Rapid, labored breathing Fins clamped against the body Fine yellow or rusty colored film on the skin so for velvet, i need to treat it with cupramine or Prazi gold?

I guess is due to my bacteria in the tank, currently only have 2L of seachem matrix and my tank is 50L. Erm recently the poo is white, before that the colour is green and yellowish. White poo mean they are stress or sick?

My clownfish is dying 1 by 1 starting yesterday morning, any bros can advise what happen? My tank is about 1.5 mth old and the fish is with me for 1 mth. I been having high nitrite issue for a while and been doing water changes everyday or every 2 days to control the nitrite They all having a common symptoms which is the white strips is turning greyish... The parameter measured when my 1st fish die... Temp = 28.5 to 29 PH = 7.6 Ammonia = 0 Nitrite = 1 Nitrate = 10 Phosphate = 0 Salinity = 1.024 Alkalinity = 7 Many thx...

anybody got ideas on this?

I guess it will be good if you put 1 or 2 and observe whether they are suitable or not instead putting all at a go... invertebrate are quite sensitive to water parm... this also can save your money incase your tank is not ready yet...

All my fish nearly die the next day after changing water. The fish start to shown symptoms that are similar to velvet/brooklynella so I went ahead to dose copper into the tank and next moment all the fish went crazy and start to over turn So I removed them from the QT tank to a small plastic tank and added my newly brought air pump into it while I change the water in my QT tank. Surprisingly the fish start to turn better and back to normal. At the moment then I realized that it should be because of the stress during water change their immunity drop and reacted to my low PH and low oxygen issue in my QT tank. I should be consider lucky that I brought the pump at the right time to save myself from this disaster. Lesson learnt, 1) don't kan chiong measure the parameter 1st before decide what to do next 2) don't do anything drastic to the tank if the fish look normal and eating good... stability is above all so call guideline...

Just now I measure my QT tank water and realised that the ammonia suddenly spike to 1.2ppm(2 days ago is 0ppm) so immediately I did a 50% water change. After the water change I realised that the fish is kind of stress, not sure is because of the water change process or parameter change. Before I do the water change the fish look perfectly fine and keep wanted to eat. so i wonder next time if ammonia spike again should I still do water change regardless whether the fish look perfectly ok or I just wait for the ammonia to reduce itself?

bro, thx for the recommenation but having a chiller to QT tank a bit hard for me to justify... haha...

you are welcome... Recently I exploring ways to keep my QT tank temp below 30c... if got more better way will share again...

@Jeebusai I have done the below testing, hopefully can give you some ideas... My conclusion is that ice bottle can only help bring down the temp, but to keep it constant I guess still need fan bah... so fan + ice bottle should be able to help provide a lower temp.... Test 1 -------------------------------------------------------- Outdoor Temp: 30c to 33c Tank Start Temp: 31.8c Tank End Temp: 30c Ice Bottle A: - 500ml (Ice melt completely in 20+ min) - Temp drop from 31.8c to 30.9c within 1hrs, and stay Ice Bottle B: - 500ml (Ice melt completely in 20+ min) - Temp drop from 30.9c to 30c within 45 min, and stay Test 2 ------------------------------------------------------- Outdoor Temp: 27c to 30c Tank Start Temp: 32c Tank End Temp: 29.9c Ice Bottle: - 500ml x 2 (Ice melt completely in 35+ min) - Temp drop from 32c to 29.9c within 1hrs, and stay **Bottle is put inside a plastic bag and fill up with water to cover the bottle as to provide a cooling factor

Feeding LPS without fish/shrimp stealing the food
Indeco replied to christan1959's topic in LPS Coral forum
Are you referring to this? You can get it from taobao... https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.79.22bb7ab0Mw4DYk&id=569192935272&ns=1&abbucket=17#detail -
ok ok, then I will add more marine pure block... I'm using prodibio digest to speed up the cycle but just that I feel my ammonia reduce rate quite slow so I thought maybe my bacteria not enough...
-
yap yap, i measuring the parameters every 2 days To increase the beneficial bacteria, i just need to increase the hosting area? E.g. Add more rock, marine pure block or just need to be patience and wait for the bacteria to grow and multiplies by itself?
-
oh ok... then I will continue to observe... so far cycle the tank for 11 days liao but look like nothing different in the tank...
-
-
Is this better than trigger pod? I understand that trigger pod will swim freely so very fast makan by the fish liao... Wanted to breed some pod in my tank while cycling...
-
bro, sure will update soon... but I guess it depend on your tank size also... my QT tanks is 50L only...
