  1. or maybe ur brown algae looks like this... on your sandbed?
  2. does your green algae look like the one on the glass or on the rock?
  3. if u don't have a chiller and u use a MH, you're fishes will be swimming in warm water! if u don't use a chiller, at least use many many many fans to cool the water.. BUT your evaporation rate will be extremely high and you'll be topping up abt 1 litre everyday..
  4. hello and welcome to SRC... hmmm the arabian angel is ard $60 but im not very sure.. it's quite hard to find (in the west) hmmm flame angel is more or less stagnant at $45 juv or adult... errrmmm abt an inch long..

  6. 10 minutes go, i wanted to manually remove some of the hair algae from my tank and put my hand in the water. When my fingertips touched the water, i felt a small tingling feeling on my finger and when i put my whole hand in, my elbow was twitching! It's most definately something like an electric surge in the water caused by some faulty pump. I believe this topic was brought up before in the old SRC but i forgot what the consequneces were and all, so has any1 here experienced the same fate as me? Does any1 know how long the surge will last in the water after everything was shut down? I switched off all the pumps, put my hand back in and i still got a small shock though not as strong as before. Fishes and corals are as healthy as ever. Pumps don't have warranties do they?
  7. y do u want viewing pleasure at night? nothing much can be seen when the corals are all closed right. hmmm... maybe u might consider adding T5 blue plus lights that can be bought from our sponsor... eAquanature... hmmm the link at the top of the page.. it produces a nice blue and enhances coral growth at the same time..
  8. my dsb is like that too i think the bubbles are the air voids that were initially at the bottom trapped when u placed your sand... so now, they are forcing their way up... thats just what i think it is... u try pressing your sandbed, more bubbles will come out.
  9. wonder what diabolus will change his 'video clip avatar' to...
  10. my nitrate was ever close to 100ppm before! hmmmm PH dropped, created a sandstorm ###### nitrate attack! nitrate at 10 and 20 is extremely good... but to get that level to zero, thats quite hard..
  11. you're using only an overhead filter for filtration? hmmm if thats the case then i think that its highly recommended to use a dsb. y not get a sump as well or at least a cannister... the OH filter takes up space at the top of your tank.. might hinder the light if u intend to upgrade to MH in the future..
  12. not really, u can get a tank maker to make it for u... won't cost more then $100 for a 2.5 ft sump or so for your 3 footer... try kelantan lane. hmmm or is it kelantan road??
  13. that much for lr?! could be tonga branch but recently, never see alot of stock of it in lfs....
  14. i support arsenal as well but i have a stinky feeling man utd will win... btw, 5-0?? look who's top! peiro has to be all smily smily now

  16. distance too far cannot unless u get something bigger... porsche maybe..
  17. no i fragged the hairy ones that were alright... then after awhile all gone also... so now this is another rock... so i just wash it away and it will be alright? or shall i pass it to u after i scrap everything off?
  18. spidey so sacarstic hahaha.. hmmm will increase nitrates if u stir up the sandbed... errr not sure if its nitrates or something else.. anyway, it's not advisable
  19. should be just ok... but i think hard corals would need more night then that... why not just get an MH 150w or something.. will come up to slightly more and u get really good light intensity...
  20. another pic.. can see the slime...
  21. help!!!!! i just lost 1 rockfull of hairy mushroom to some kind of disease.. they just slowly liquidated 1 by 1!!!! before anymore could go, i took out and threw away the whole rock... but i fragged the remaing mushrooms but they also liquidated! now another rock at the other end of the tank is facing the same thing! really nice rock covered with mushrooms and a few are already in a very slimy state! my tank params are... 3ft, 150w 6500k mh, 10,000k coralife, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nirate 25ppm, kh 12, calcium 400ppm.... can any1 tell me any way of saving my mushies? all other corals all fine! fishes all seem ok.. don't know what the prob is!!
  22. once every 2 weeks maybe.. hmmm let your water run for a few days.. weeks in possible then add salt to it and let it run for some more days then change.. as ltast thats what i do
