u want to keep fishes like this one? looks ancient.. and maybe would require a huge tank.. and everytime u feed it, it would warrant a 25% water change.. carnivorous i presume? maybe even re-arrange your rockwork if u have any..(falling rocks = broken tank) in my humble opinion, i won't keep such fishes.. maybe alone by itself in a tank like an arowana if i have the space.. maybe u can try seafood restaurants... but as u said, they are in horrid conditions.. 2 cents..

usually it's phosphate... which phosphate test kit are u using? i don't know it nitrate contributes to the growth but it's very very VERY hard to remove all the hair algae! u have to take out all the rocks and scrub it all clean.. no trace of hair algae should be in the tank because if 1 strand were to detach itself and get stuck to another rock, it would grow a whole new clump there.. that's what happened to me and now due to numerous taking out and scrubbing of rocks, my tank is almost bare.. all the corals could not take it..

or maybe the camel will know WHO to shoot at the next time around if they ever try it again..

not very true that the older the structure the stronger it is.. in fact, older structures have been exposed to more elements.. though it's mainly repeated loadings that causes the structure to be weakened over time.. bomb shelters are usually located within beams but it does not mean all for corners are surrounded by beams.. if u did not do any modification to your flat, placing it next to a wall that joins to your windows should be fine as there is most likely a beam below it..

hmm can i ask a question... do all of u guys put base substrate below your gravel or do u put in the cubes of fert into the gravel? i had a planted about a year ago and gave up because everytime i want to change the plants in my tank, all the base substrate would all come to the surface!

one powder blue or AT is enough for a 3 ft tank i think... they tend to swim alot and most of the time, swim from 1 end of the tank to the other... im sure they don't want to be chased away from a certain corner that the sohal deems it's territory... speaking of which, the sohal, too, requires a large space to swim in.. 6 tangs would look good in an.... 8footer maybe?
