white patches means that the coraline algae died and left a white patch is it? i'm not sure but i think that when corlaine dies, they leave a white patch where they use to be..

can but do it at your own risk.... chances are that the water will turn abit cloudy and sand will be blown around since u have PHs in your tank... worst case senario: corals/fish die

hmmm actually my tank has that rotating thing as well... because i bought my tank from there!!! it actually spreads the water out well over the bio-balls but i had to put a sponge under the sprinker above the bio-balls... nitrite juzt won't fall! and believe it, i've not cleaned the rain-bar since i bought the tank abt 7mths ago... if it gets chocked somehow, it will just stop rotating..

if u intend to self mix your water, do it before hand after letting the water run for awhile.... if i add sand then water then salt, the salt will sink to the bottom of your tank and be part of the DSB so premix the water then fill up the tank then add sand or add the sand before water up to u... either way, the water will become cloudy.... u can add ur lr anytime u wish but it will be better if u add them all at 1 shot and not build it up slowly.. once ur tank is cycled and u add in more LR, it will create a new mini-cycle (like what i've always experienced) the die offs from the lr does help but if u wanna have a faster cycle, add a market prawn into the tank.. hope this helps!

upgrade to a 20,000k... will make your completion better... bedside lamp can be 6500k.. good for growth while sleeping
